Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, also known as „Avatar Mountains“ is one of the most spectacular natural highlights in China. The national park located in Hunan's „Wulingyuan Scenic Area“ was actually China´s very first authorized national park, when opened in 1982. Its popularity, especially for international travellers, rose after the nationalpark was declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 & UNESCO Global Geopark. If you aren't familiar with China as a travel destination you might haven't heard about these formations (like me, before moving to Shanghai) and will find it hard to get English speaking travel information, especially for individual travellers.
When researching about Zhangjiajie I got the impression that the area is huge and there are countless options for exploring. So where to start, especially if you only have limited time? Of course I also expected Zhangjiajie NP would be well developed well, because the area has to handle more then 20 million visitors a year. 😱 But even after reading quite a few articles, travel guides and viewing pictures, still many questions remained: How to get to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park? Is it possible to explore the area on your own, or is it neccessary to go on a pre-organized tour? How many days are required to explore the nationalpark? Where to stay best? What is the best time to visit Zhangjiajie?
Never Stop Exploring .
This shot was taken at higher sharpnose point, Bude in North Cornwall whilst on holiday. Had to climb up and down a very steep path to make it to this point. What an adrenaline fuelled experience. It was definitely worth the hike with the view from here.
Video coming soon. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
sometimes when it is so hot outside the best thing to do is go through your pictures and find one you missed and post it 📷📷📷

Pěkný víkend všem 🤙🏻

A bustling world heritage-listed town, Lijiang is a UNESCO World Heritage site in China surrounded by lakes and fruit orchards, drawing over eight million visitors every year. A gateway to ancient local life in China, its Old Town dates back over 800 years and is famed for its charming canals, some 300 bridges and weeping willow trees. #blueskyescapes in #yunnan

Life is crazy. I feel like I have already had so many experiences in my life and I’m only 19. Seems like as a middle schooler I couldn’t even fathom being a college student in a different state.

Woke up at 4:00 am to drive up 70km to reach Lake Moraine! The sunrise and this reflection shot was well worth it.
