The bent over double kettlebell row is a variation that can be quite challenging. It combines concepts of the standard bent over row and a renegade row, and requires a lot of body control.
The great thing about this row is that you can still go fairly heavy on it, as it doesn't create so much instability that you get stuck with light weights that are hard to progress. It will provide a great stimulus to the core and low back as well as the standard rowing muscles, the lats and traps.
𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲:
- Set up with the feet between the bells
- Reach forward and protract the shoulder blades
- Hinge over and grab the bells keeping the back straight
- If you don't quite have the hamstring flexibility yet, just prop the bells up on blocks
- Retract the shoulder blade and row one side at a time while minimizing motion through the hips

Had a CRAPPY night on back squats. Worked up to 345 w/o any problems. Attempt on 365 (10 lbs below current 1RM) FAILED terribly. So, I’m down 10 lbs on the cycle. Then we did max strict unbroken pull-ups. I got 5 w a black band but was honestly looking ahead to the 2k Row that was next. Old PR was 8:30 and I smashed that tonight w a 7:45 for a 45 second PR! Super happy w that. Now onto tomorrow night and deadlift. Tomorrow is the biggest night of the week for me.
