I’d like to start a challenge or initiative in environmental protection.
My fellow Brits are probably aware of the climate change protests going on in London at the moment.
These people are PEACEFUL, and they are worried and upset about the inactivity of our government. And I fully support their message.
It’s a frightening time we’re going through at the moment. The fear that there might not be a future for the next generations.
I am not a powerful person, I can’t change the laws, all I can do is sign petitions, carry on being vegan, and try even harder to combat climate change. But I’m going to try my best.
Anyone who’s interested in starting a group chat where we can share ideas, help each other plan events to raise funds and awareness for environmental groups, or just to share worries/hopes for the future, then let me know ! 💕💕 Effie
She sensed him before she saw him. It was always this way. Daphne’s eyes roamed over the lean man seated at the corner table. His long artist’s fingers flicked over a page of a well worn book. Shelley, Byron, Keats...which would it be? From observing him over the past few weeks, she knew those were his favorites. Pulse racing she contemplated her next move. Well, she mused, I can’t just stand here staring at him for hours! Biting her lower lip she took a step forward in his direction. -
“Ridiculous,” she hissed. He hardly ever noticed her. No, she would not make a fool of herself. Still watching, one hand clenching the lush silk of her gown, she decided today was not the day to approach him. Perhaps tomorrow. Yes, that would be best. She’d practice what she would say to him and try then.
As she gave into a last longing gaze he shifted his eyes, meeting hers. One corner of his mouth curved up in amusement. Or was it an invitation? Perhaps both. She really wasn’t quite sure...
I was wondering about the lovely young woman in this vintage photo from 1915. Who was she, what did she hope for and did her dreams come true? -

Must all heroes be strong? 💪🏽 And I don’t mean just the muscles! (Though there’s that, too.) Of course he must be flawed, but what about if he’s a skinny IT guy with glasses and bad hair but an amazing smile? What if he’s a well-hung construction worker with a little bit of a beer belly and a soft spot for cats? 😜 Could still be hot? Real, at least...
Here’s a biggie: Should your hero be utterly monogamous with your heroine from the start of the book all the way to its HEA? This is a big one that most standard romance draws a hard line on.
There’s all sorts of opinions out there on the interwebs. What are yours? Tell me what you’d love to read in a hero. .
Me, I’m all for dismantling the tropes!
