Maisy’s story was all I wanted and more! She deserved a happy ending after the hurt she suffered and Hunter, mistakes and all, was the perfect hero for her. I loved the steamy chemistry between Maisy and Hunter and appreciated the fragile emotional bonds Maisy was struggling to create after past, failed relationships. My favorite bits, however, always involved Maisy’s son, Coby! I utterly adored how Hunter and Coby took to one another so seamlessly and loved seeing Hunter nurture their relationship. If any book boyfriend deserved a dad of the year award..I’d vote Hunter all day long;) I loved this series when I first devoured it and it’s just as good the second time around!! The characters are relatable, funny, and a little bit damaged, but totally full of love and heart. The small town vibes resonate a homey, friendly feel that I just feel like I just dropped in to visit close friends/family for a bit. #bookstagram#bookreview#bookworm#romancenovel#jamisonvalleyseries#devneyperry#thebitterrootinn#jewlsfavoritereads

Sabrina and Beau are what make The Outpost my favorite in the Jamison Valley series by far.
Beau and Sabrina’s story exceeded my expectations! I didn’t think I’d like my favorite gruff mountain man with a heart of gold getting together with the city girl journalist, but Sabrina held her own. She was feisty, spirited, and even better-she had the intelligence to know when to follow directions. I loved how their romance developed over a period of time. And with the edge of suspense, it just put things into a sharper perspective. #theoutpost#jamisonvalleyseries#devneyperry#romancenovel#bookworm#bookstagram#jewlsfavoritereads#bookreview

Desperately trying to catch up with #wwfchallenge2019
Days 23, 24, 25 & 26 (I’m early on that one!) Author shoutout: There are so many but these are some that I’ve chatted to and have really come to appreciate. Also, some who’s books I’ve read and reviewed. To be fair, all the lovely people in #womenwritingfiction#womensauthorexchange and #authorexchange deserve a shoutout.
YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!
I really liked this story! I loved Georgia (Gigi), her daughter Rowen, and Maisy-Gigi’s co worker-was a serious hoot! Gigi was a strong lead, even when Jess was bossing her around, and Rowen was too cute for words. It’s no wonder she had Jess wrapped around her finger so easily! Maisy..she’s the bubbly coworker you just can’t stay mad at! Always smiling and effervescent, I felt terrible for the short end of the stick she got and her ending role..man, I hope she gets one hell of an HEA!
It took me longer to warm up to Jess’ hot and cold temperament. Jess was the poster guy for male PMS (p**y male syndrome)..reasonable one minute and then rude in the next. Highly annoying actually, until Gigi finally set him straight. When he wasn’t suffering from said pms, he was actually a very likable guy-super sweet, thoughtful and protective of his girls. Adoring really once you crack his facade and see beneath the surface.
Jess and Gigi’s romance was deeper than I expected and very sexy! From their first meet, I wasn’t joking when I said you could “feel the force” when these two got around each other! Their chemistry was scorching and I was happily surprised when the reflected results were deeper than their physical lure. These two weren’t just playing at house, they actually set things up in sweet, yet meaningful ways.
The drug/murder aspect wasn’t as tight as the romance, but was still pretty good. It created this sense of danger you knew was going to fall when things were going good, but I was still taken by surprise when it happened.
With its small town charm hiding dark secrets, the opening book for the Jamison Valley series captured my attention from start to finish! I loved the romance and the sense of community. I didn’t even finish my cup of tea, I was so absorbed! I’ll definitely be reading next book in the series. #bookstagram#bookworm#jamisonvalleyseries#devneyperry#thecoppersmithfarmhouse#romancenovel#bookreview#jewlsfavoritereads

❤️ This Life I ❤️ Finnegan O’Shea
The Sons of Munster have been living this life for generations. We have our own protocol, our own traditions, dating back from when two families merged and created our syndicate in Ireland. Now, we have our strongholds in Philly and Chicago, and the wrong man holds the highest position. The day my uncle decided to betray us, he signed his own death warrant, and after a five-year hitch in the can, I’m ready to take everything from him. In order to ensure the demise of his management, I have to get close to him. I need to earn his trust and that of his closest associates. I’ll be the top earner he wants me to be. I’ll be the very image of a conventional family man.
For that to happen, this Irish bastard has to find himself a wife. Someone sweet and compliant who will stand by my side and make me look like I have too much to lose to screw over the head of the family.
When it rains, it pours, so I guess it’s been pouring for eighteen years now. Being from an old mining town that’s full of drunk cautionary tales, I spend my days juggling—and failing—school, work, and paying the bills so my dad can drink himself into a stupor. Then this freaking guy rolls into town in his expensive sports car and thinks I should marry him. This isn’t the fifties, and there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell I’ll marry a well-known mobster. No matter how much money he promises me. No matter how intensely the chemistry sizzles between us.
He asks for three years of marriage. Then I’d be set for life, independent, and free to start fresh on my own. Free to walk away. Who the hell does he think he is?
I’ve been asked a lot over the last few weeks about my writing process, how I develop characters, think of ideas, etc. This week I thought I would start by sharing my top “scene songs.” As a kid of the 80’s I grew up with music videos and waiting with bated breath to see the story or images that MTV would play that went along with my favorite music. Therefore as develop and think of my scenes I usually do it to music and certain scenes correlate to certain songs in my head. I have been known to listen to the same song on repeat for hours, days or maybe longer as I work through plot points. (I still must apologize to my son for the summer of Maroon Five). In fact this is so important in my writing process that my editor will often tell me to find my story’s music when I start writing.
However, I have found that certain songs, no matter the story, do appear in my mind on repeat, and have become sort of a check list to make sure my tale is heading in the right direction.
So, turn up the volume, here are my top five songs to write to:
A band that doesn’t get nearly enough recognition, I have never met a Keane song I didn’t like. This one resonates with me and usually is in my head at some point where my hero is absolutely desperate.
Hello bookstagrammers! I'm on a big contemporary romance kick these days. I absolutely loved Intercepted and I can't wait to get to this next Sally Thorne book (which I can't believe I still haven't read but so goes the life of a girl with a growing TBR). Intercepted has a little bit of Housewives vibe but with far less botox, I promise. I loved that the main character Marlee has her own life and dreams and career going apart from the romance.
Are you currently on a streak reading a particular genre?
I got my first bookish subscription box! Thank you @bubbles_books_box for a great first box! My new apartment has a tub and I am so excited to take a bath! I’ve also had this book on my #tbr list! Excited to try the tea and face mask. Expect some selfies when I use the products! #bath 🔥 use code DESANTIS10 for 10% your first order! Totally worth it!
Lo so, lo so.

What is it about these books that I just need to have the **shole player that I need in my life. Literally I don’t want the good, sweet guy like ew. I liked this book in the series the best and literally I read the first two as soon as I could so I could read this one. Dean and Allie are A+ with their personality and bickering. Legit the bickering is so funny I actually laughed. Regardless of that there was also actual character development. We saw Dean go through trauma (no spoilers) and Allie handle her own problems and it’s great. I recommend! Read this book and you’ll thank me!!! Book 1 - The Deal
Book 2 - The Mistake
About the book👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼 He knows how to score, on and off the iceAllie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn't have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she's nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won't include the king of one-night stands. It'll take more than flashy moves to win her over Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls...he's a ladies man, all right, and he's yet to meet a woman who's immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world-and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It's not over until he says it's over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it's time to stop focusing on scoring...and shoot for love.

A gift for you today! One of my books is on a #freepromotion for the next few days!
The Reluctant Marquess is a prequel to the The Duke's Daughters Series. It is the story of Molly and Hugh, and how they met and married. Let's say except for the fact that he is the future Duke, he was not much of a catch! But Molly influenced him to become something more. I hope you enjoy it!
In A Doctor’s Promise by Laura Scott, Dr. Jared O’Connor moves to Wisconsin in search of is deceased brothers fiancee and child. After starting work as a flight doctor and meeting pretty nurse Shelly and her son, Ty, he is diverted from his mission. Jarred soon bonds with Shelly and Ty and he eventually discovers the truth about Shelly, her soon, and Jared’s brother. This book ends in a HEA.
This books a sweet, clean romance. Ty was a sweet boy who fell hard for Jared. Seeing the two of them bond and Jared learning the ropes of caring for a kid was fun. I felt like the story struggled with showing instead of telling how the characters were feeling and acting so I was not as absorbed in the book as I usually get. Nonetheless, I will checkout the second book in the series when it is released!

After a long day I sooooo look forward to my decompress ritual. It consists of burning incense, soft sweaters, fuzzy socks, hot tea, a spoon of peanut butter and the current slutty romance novel I’m reading. (I’m on a paranormal reverse harem kick.) This has easily become my favorite part of the day. I have to say my kindle is my most used present from Christmas. Runner up is the bath tub tray I use to put my kindle on. 😂 Ladies do you read any romance novels with a strong female lead character? I’m almost done with this series and need recommendations for what’s next. 🤔😍 #nightynight#bedtime#novel#romancenovel#paranormalromance#Tea#kindleunlimited
