I've never acquired a watch as an "investment" (although I'm told that I've made some good ones). I'm also told that this one wasn't one.
I use my watches for their intended purpose. This "polar" Explorer II has been to Antarctica (and by this year, all seven continents 🌍), and I bring it along because it's a reliable, earnest piece of equipment - an integral part of any journey. (It does desk diving pretty well, too!) Even the Daytona goes swimming (to less than 100 meters, of course. 😉) That's the "investment" that I make with them: use that they were designed for. Let's test that @rolex R&D!
Your gear should share their stories with you, because that's the best return you can get. 😊🖖🏼
