We’ve been up to something special these past couple of months... bringing light and energy to every household along the Kokoda Track! Thanks to our wonderful partners at the Kokoda Initiative, we have installed household energy systems onto every house, school and aid post in Naoro 2, Efogi 1 & 2, Kagi, Alola, Abuari, Isurava, Hoi, Kovello and the smaller villages in between. This is on the back of our partners at Back Track Adventures, Mundango Abroad and George & Josie Palmer who funded us to light up Manari, Naduri, Kou Kou 1 & 2.
This gift of light changes lives in so many ways. It improves productivity, allows children to study after dark, reduces reliance on toxic kerosene and keeps women and girls safer in their villages.
The feedback we have received from community members has been extraordinary. Lives changed. Futures brightened.
On our trip across The Nullarbor, @jono.hall was very insistent that there was NOTHING along the straightest road in Australia.
Boyyyyyyy, did I show him... there’s this cool sign! #gothim#punked
Nullarbor Plain ‘18
Our drone pilot @mattgreen_sfm getting some incredible footage on the Cape Wrath Trail. Today could be our last day filming as Damian and Beth approach the final stretch of their journey! It's an incredible feat of endurance from the duo, and impressive to watch their story unfold. 🎥⛰🏃🏃♀️

It doesn't look like there's a lot to see when driving the Nullarbor across Australia, but you'll find all sorts of animals out here along with some great views of the Bight just a short drive from the main road.
You'll find this iconic sign opposite the Nullarbor Roadhouse, one of the last fuel and food stops until you reach the West Australian border!
Fun fact: while Nullarbor sounds like an indigenous name, it in fact comes from Latin, meaning, no trees!
