Safe to say. Man like Freddo had his date with destiny.
Boy! Oh Boy the river crossing wasn't pleasant.
With Ogre's lurking and Sharks swimming.
It was hit and miss as to whether Mr. Freddo would make it or not.
Alas, he plucked up the courage and said #OhGoOnThen lets be having ya!! And crossed, completely unscathed.
In March the pop up shop in Reigate will be re-launching as @thereigatepopup and they’ll be a re-launch party next Saturday, the 2nd March.
Although it’s being re-branded and will have some new contributors the shop will still involve many of the same wonderful local ranges, artists, crafters and photographers as before.
There will be a new range of stylish painted furniture and another change is that Scandiwegians will have more display space upstairs. It’s quite scary for us to commit to additional space because our whole ethos is to bring you a collection of beautiful, covetable items at an affordable price point - we deliberately specialise in items that compare to department store prices rather than rare ‘collectors’ pieces’. So that means we have to sell a lot to cover our rent! But we wanted to give it a go because we want the Pop Up Shop to continue as we think it brings something fresh and different to our high street and also so that we could look back and know we tried. So let’s do this Reigate area... The larger space gives us the chance to bring you some new ranges such as the wonderful Saffron range from Hornsea Pottery of Yorkshire that’s in the photo. We will also have some Mid Century Danish lighting plus our usual Scandinavian and British Mid Century glass and ceramics.
Happy Friday everyone! 👋🏻🖤 Just before I start; this is a photo from last year and all of these stones have sold! I’m mentioning this at the beginning of the post, because I’m often asked when new painted stones will become available and quite a few of you get a little bit excited when you see that I’ve posted a photo of the stones, in the hope that they’ll be for sale! Sadly, these ones aren’t, but I am working on several new pieces at the moment and I hope to have at least some for sale in the next shop update on the 19th February at 7:30pm GMT (next Tuesday). 🐚 I have currently completely sold out of stones, slate, seaglass etc. until next week. 💎🌊 To be honest, I’m posting today just to let you know that if I’m a little bit quiet over the next few days, it’s purely because this week I feel as if I’m climbing a mountain! I’m working on getting all of the print orders out, which is a huge job in itself, and I’m trying to finish as many pieces as I possibly can for the shop update next week. I don’t know at the moment just how many pieces will be available, or exactly what will be available. I’m aiming for a mix of painted beach finds, vintage Observer’s books, and new original paintings on paper. I’m also hoping to be able to do the shop updates a little more frequently over the next couple of months or so, and so the one after this will happen around the beginning of March, all being well. I’m noticing that as my business grows, it’s becoming more and more difficult for me to fit everything in. I’m making a lot of changes behind-the-scenes in order to be able to manage my workload more effectively, so we’ll see how that goes. I always want to do so much more than I have time for! I’m trying not to stress too much about the next update; there will be some lovely new things for sale and what I don’t get finished in time for this update will be available in the next one! Thanks as ever for your support and have a lovely weekend. 🖤
