Hoje foi dia de levar o "The very hungry Caterpillar" para os alunos da Escola Municipal Cláudio Ribeiro em Rio das Ostras. Um momento incrível de troca e aprendizagem.

Fall is here!!! I was curious to see if the mini pumpkins also had seeds inside of them. So after offering the whole pumpkin to the infants and seeing their interest in them, I decided to cut them into slices and see what was truly inside!
A few loved chewing on the raw pumpkin while others loved the feeling of the seeds and gunk inside!! We had all six sitting with us on the floor invested in the pumpkins and their insides/flavour. A definite success. .
What inspires you when creating an activity for your child?
For us, our greatest and most important inspiration is our own children. Every night as we lay down to sleep, I ask little A what he loved most about his day and what he’d like to do the following day. His insights into our day are so beautifully recollected and they more often than not paint a picture so different to how I perceived our day. It’s in those quiet, honest moments I’m reminded how important it is to keep checking in on what it is he wants and needs from us. And it’s exactly how we feel about his activities and extra curricular groups. We follow his lead and plan our day in a way that nurtures and encourages his insatiable thirst for adventure and knowledge.
Sometimes little A will tell me he wants to go on an adventure. Or he’d like to go for a walk to collect treasures. Other times he’d like to visit a friend or he’ll say ‘can you make me an activity mum?’ Sometimes we set up an activity together based on what he’s requested but most days I prefer to take out the fundamentals of what he’s asked for, together with a selection of loose parts and watch him create his own activity. His play space naturally evolves as he runs off and collects more loose parts to build on his elaborate play space or story. His imagination runs wild and his heart is alive. There is nothing we love more.
Today’s request...bugs, tongs and treasures to build a cave to make babies 🙈

I introduced my class to the story “Hibou, Hibou” by @laclassedemadameangel using our revamped puppet theatre the other day. Today we retold the story through a Coding Retell. Check out my stories for a picture. ⬆️
