The Cornucopia Institute’s Organic Soy Report and accompanying Scorecard rates companies that market organic soy foods, such as soymilk, tofu and “veggie burgers,” based on ten criteria that are important to organic consumers, showcasing companies that are truly committed to the spirit and letter of the organic law while exposing those that do not rate highly or were unwilling to share their sourcing and production practices in our survey. Sundays call for laundry and I finally switched to Thieves Laundry Soap and I'm lovvvinng it! It's so concentrated so we use not even half a cap. I'm soooo grateful for how versatile these oils are and how you can incorporate them in the products in your house🙌 Thieves for the win all day 'err day
If there are only four numbers in the PLU, this means that the produce was grown conventionally or “traditionally” with the use of pesticides. The last four letters of the PLU code are simply what kind of vegetable or fruit. An example is that all bananas are labeled with the code of 4011 not apples.
Love my new @hydrealondon bamboo headband from @lookfantasticuae It’s eco friendly and naturally anti bacterial, anti fungal, anti static, hypo allergenic. The label talks about bamboo being a fast growing grass 🌱 which thrives naturally and organically without the need for any chemicals. It produces more oxygen and absorbs more carbon dioxide than an equivalent stand of trees, making it a sustainable and eco friendly resource. When harvested, the root systems are left intact meaning it can rapidly self regenerate whilst preventing soil erosion. Bamboo is 100% biodegradable too. It also tells you that the fabric for this headband is made from Moso Bamboo which is not the same type that pandas eat 🐼 It is machine washable too! 🎋 #hydrealondon#bamboo#bambooheadband#lookfantastic#lookfantasticuae#ecofriendly#lessplastic#readthelabel#thelabeldetective🔎🏷🌱
Do you read the ingredients labels on your food? About two years ago, I never even thought about turning around a box or jar and reading the back. 🤷♀️ Honestly, I just bought the cheapest of everything... The cheapest bread, the cheapest pasta sauce, the cheapest of everything. 💲💲💲
When Anthony and I decided that we wanted to clean up our diet, it was honestly ridiculously overwhelming. We had no idea where to start. 🤷♀️
I tried to absorb as much information as I could about healthy eating... But the thing is, there is SO MUCH information out there....and a lot of it is actually conflicting information. Then one day, I was listening to a podcast and it said not to complicate healthy eating. It said to eat real food.
It explained that real food is something that your great-great-great grandmother would have eaten. If you look at an ingredients label, and there are ingredients listed that your great-great-great-grandmother wouldn't have recognized, don't eat that. Eat. Real. Food.
We started to change the foods that we bought based on this idea and were actually shocked at how much crap was in the food that we were eating. 🙄 For a while, it took us about three times as long to grocery shop, since we were learning to read the back labels of everything that we would put into the cart. 😂
But eventually, we got the hang of it....just like anything new that you're learning, it will take time. But just do your best and try to improve a little more every day. 😊💕

Read your labels! The wheat bread has the same primary flour, and nearly identical ingredients, but does contain caramel color! (Which in dog food is a known carcinogen, so I can only assume it is in people food as well) #marketing#readthelabel#labelreader#nutritionfacts

.....didn't notice this was a bag of whole beans....imagine my defookinglight when I got home ..... always wanted a grinder (not) .....Argos is great though..... like a modern day Roches Stores (ish, loosely ish)
I might be biased but I’m a little obsessed with how cute these gift baskets turned out! ✌️❤️🌎

A little educational post for you.... There are lots of companies flying under the radar out there.. lots of them say cbd hemp oil but if you #look at the label, it is hemp SEED oil.
There's a reason that hemp seed has been on grocery shelves for so much longer than cbd oil.
Read the label!! It takes 2 mins to take a look at what you’re putting into your body. It can take months to recover from an illness/intolerance/lose weight. #worthit#readthelabel#happy#healthy

Today's 'interesting' product find 🤔 An Oatmeal Breakfast Blend with 3.5 star rating. Reading the ingredients list suggests otherwise! First two ingredients are water & sugar followed by only 5% oatmeal 🤨 so essentially expensive sugar water.....with the natural flavours featuring....presumably the ones that give the Nutri-Grain flavour!?! Ignore the marketing on the front & always read the ingredients list!! Alternative?? Soak some oats overnight & add a little cinnamon & honey for flavour 😊🌿

B r e a d - we all love bread!
People believe that bread is good for them because we’ve consumed it for thousands of years. ——🥖——
The problem is that what we call bread those days is something very different to what humans consumed even a hundred years ago. ——🥖——
When did you last look at the list of the ingredients of the bread you buy?
You will find that most of the breads are extremely processed, full of lots of chemicals, harmful vegetable oils, modified starch, margarine, hydrogenate oils and much more. ——🥖——
Sourdough bread is made by the fermentation of dough using naturally occurring lactobacilli and yeast. Whenever a flour and water mixture remains in a warm place, some natural fermentation occurs. ——🥖——
Making your own bread is easier then you ever thought, but remember that if you have digestive issues, avoid grains. Even with people that are fine with grains I will suggest having grains in moderation.
Thank you @silvia_sidoroff for introducing me to this. .

My brokerage ordered this shirt for me, when asked my size I reluctantly said a large, hoping that it would fit. Once I received it, I hung it up in the closet and didn’t try on because I was nervous that it would be to tight . Well today I had the confidence to put it on and it was perfect. It’s time to #retrainthebrain
Starting my #friday off with a cup of elderberry tea. My #liltoughguy came down with a bug and I’m doing my best to stay healthy! What is your favorite immune booster during this season of germs?
Do you ever wonder if there are simple things you eat every week that are giving you unecessary sugar? The answer might be yes!
This post contains info about canned soup and dried fruit. Two common foods that often contain added sugars and/or sweeteners.
The first two pics are of a tomato soup label. It contains 12 g of sugar in a 1/2 cup serving. That's about 3 teaspoons of sugar in a small half a cup! The soup contains high fructose corn syrup- an ingredient I suggest keeping out of your home.
The third and fourth pics are of dried cranberries. It's a package labeled 50% less sugar. But it still has 14 g of sugar per 1/4 cup serving! And not only does it contain sugar, it also has sucralose (Splenda) used to sweeten it as well.
As you can see, these two fairly decent looking options that may even seem healthy to some have plenty of sweetener hiding in them. I'm sure many people consume these and similar products, glad they're getting servings of vegetables and fruits. But there are much more nutritious ways to do so with less sugar.
It is recommended for women to eat less than 25 grams of sugar per day. If you eat one serving of each of these foods, you've already reached that! Read the labels on food products before you purchase them. Message me if you have any questions!
Share a food you recently learned contains a lot of sugar in the comments!
