Pairs well with: a bagged lunch
It made me: marathon binge teen movies
Twins Ellery and Ezra travel to picturesque Echo Ridge for an extended stay with their grandmother. The town, also known as “Murderland”, has a storied past of unsolved crimes, one being the twin’s aunt and most recently a high school homecoming queen. As ominous threats resurface, with Ellery among the targets, herself, her brother and their two new friends (one with family ties to a previous suspect) work to uncover the mysteries of both the town they inhabit and their own families’ hidden secrets...I quickly flew through this solid teen mystery and enjoyed reading through the lens of Ellery, a true crime buff. At one point, I briefly began to feel restless and convinced I had figured out the murderer as clues appeared to confirm my suspicions but spoiler- I was wrong, leaving me surprised and chilled by the final words.

This is a beautiful book. It is devastating and heartbreaking and maddening, but it is beautiful. When I picked it up, I had a feeling that I would love it. I didn’t start reading it right away, because I wanted to finish something else first, but I kept being drawn to it. Something told me it would be amazing, and it was.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (This book is also potentially super triggering: there is emotional abuse and manipulation, there are rape scenes, and there’s quite a bit of violence, so be aware before you pick it up.)
Do you have any books you have half-read in purpose, because you don't want them to end? 😋
For me right now this is THAT book 🤗
I started it at the beginning of 2019, while travelling through Italy, so it was my train-buddy 🚂
When I came back I just left it aside, because I DON'T WANT IT TO END
It's a book with mini-stories / allegories about the magical land of Mo 🤗
📖: "The Surprising Adventures of the Magical Monarch of Mo and His People" by L. Frank Baum
I love quiet mornings like today: I've woken up early, did my yoga at home, went to the gym for Pilates, went to supermarket, came home & had breakfast, tidied up, had a shower and now I can relax with a book until I have to go to work 💕
I especially love those mornings when they include a good book, which I can't really say for the one I'm currently reading..
I usually don't like to abandon books, but "Lila" is really tempting me to 🙈🙉🙊🤷
Do you abandon books or you stick to them no matter how hard it is??
On the side I'm having my "summer-water" : #lemon#strawberry & #mint infused water
