This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls/Guys will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soulmate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about.💕 #IvyConrado#KNFabsGiftOfFame
If the weather is good, I plan on riding Dakota and April on Saturday and Sunday. April might be being leased out soon, I’ll miss her, but she deserves to have a rider who can bring her to her full potential. If I were a foot shorter, I would have loved to work with her consistently, but i’m 5’9 ish so riding a little pony isn’t the best for either of us.
TOMORROW is the day! Come view the 2019 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale consignments at the Pre-Sale party! Pictured here is HIP #252, NO SECRET RULES (No Secrets Here x Bac By Design - Splash Bac) owned by Lonnie Terwilliger. This guy has all the tools to make a barrel horse. Not to mention, he's an absolute sweetheart to handle and be around. He was not started in order to give him time to grow and mature. He is now ready to go in any direction. Had a great time making some custom shirts for this team of cowboys and cowgirls! 🤠They took 4th place in the ultimate horseman’s challenge at the National Western Stock Show today. Love how the hot pink embroidery stood out all the way across the arena! Way to go team “Blazing Saddles!”
Cowboy was being disrespectful and was going to turn away from me instead of allowing me to be the leader. A quick reactionary flick of my hand kept him in a correct position while increasing his respect instead of having it degraded. Always be aware of what your horse is doing.

so this pon has been quite the spice, she is missing her riding schedule
The last 4-5 groundwork days she hasn’t been her usual angel self on the ground, most of it stemming for anxiety rather than excess energy. Today’s lesson was helpful, we focused on how to work through her anxiousness and getting her focused on me. No monkeys came out and though she did get worked up she contained herself, which is a win in my book. with any luck in a few sessions we will be happier

Not a sponsored post but my word I wish it was!
Discovered today that @magicbrushhorse 's brushes are the perfect tool for getting your horses coat squeaky clean. Really seemed like it was getting the soap was getting right to the base of the hairs, and Bear loved the massage too! Don't know why this took me so long to try 🤦♀️
Swipe to see this glorious invention in action.
I made this edit instead of studying for finals... it was worth it ig haha
-also I normally don’t lounge red but he needed this, usually we play the circling game but because we were in a smaller spot than we normally are, I decided it would be best to lounge. I also tend to use mostly body language and I tend to not use the carrot stick too much. But red wasn’t responding to my body language, and I had to work him before the storm rolled in.
Don't mind the first part I just wanted to put it in for no reason 😂
I WASN'T LATE FOR 1 PERIOD YAYYY -

Have you ever felt rushed in a run – so much that it caused you to throw your loop with poor timing? Was it because your horse was ducking out or anticipating their stop?
Anytime we get into one of these situations, it causes us to ride defensively and we get ahead of ourselves worrying about getting a dally, or not being in the right position or in time with the steer. At this point we’ve turned all control in the run over to our horse and the steer. We end up taking high risk/low percentage throws and typically end up with little success.
The good news is that all of these issues can be solved instead by us riding offensively and preparing our horses to make good choices in the practice pen. Outside of that, we must make our riding a priority in a run. If your horse is ducking out, ride to your shot and after you rope, get a dally and ask your horse to go another jump or two before turning the steer off. We want then listening to us rather making assumptions on when to turn the steer.
On the heeling side - same thing, change up your throw a little by going an extra jump or two. We want our horse to think about what they are needing to do and respond rather than just react. We want to rope every steer as fast as we can, but we also want to use each run to prepare for the next.
A majority of the time at jackpots, we can go a little further down the arena and still be just as fast when our run is smooth and in control.
