You and me and Mother Nature- I love the collaboration that happens doing what I do. Some clients come with a lot of ideas and images or maybe just a favorite color and I love all types of direction. I can also say that I do my best work (my above and beyond work)when there is a level of trust- I promise I will do my best to make it gorgeous and trust me-it is so worth it to not over plan and leave a little space to be dazzled by whatever Mother Nature decides to turn out the the week of your event (like these delicious purple beauty berries)
This is one of the twin arrangements that graced an intimate ceremony last month. @Raysboathouse#bondinbloom#dsfloral#flowerstagram#pursuepretty#floraldesign#seattleflorist#seattlebride#underthefloralspell
Chicken and waffles would technically be a descriptive noun, but it should actually be considered an adverb. #chickenandwaffles

sunday funday with my boys😍can’t wait til the next one🥞🥂🥓
Tis the season for crafting and there’s no better tradition that I’d rather do than make pomander balls!
Southern, amazingly scented, and super easy, this is a DIY that my grandmother passed onto me, while sipping hot chocolate and listening to albums on her antique record player. .
All you need is a jar of whole cloves, oranges, and a nail. I usually punch 3 holes then insert my cloves, and just make up a pattern as I go. There’s no wrong way to do it, and they make the best decor. I add them to tablescapes, on shelves, on mantels, added to gift baskets, and as a sweet hostess gift (tie a velvet ribbon around for an added touch) — they add the perfect pop of color and make your house smell like Christmas, and once they dry out, you can use them for however long that you’d like! .
Check out @mystylevita for a blog entry explaining the steps more in detail. .

⭐️Fact about dermaplaning- this procedure removes fine facial hair (vellus hair) and dead skin on the face with a blade, revealing smoother and softer skin. Performed regularly this treatment helps refine and brighten the skin, diminish the appearance of dark spots and fine lines, and enhance product penetration. Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation about dermaplane. Here are some common misconceptions about dermaplaning.
1. Your peach fuzz will grow back thicker - it is biologically impossible for your hair to grow back thicker because of shaving. Shaving simply creates a blunt tip on the hairs which many interpret as greater thickness. So your hair will grow back as is 😃
2: Your hair will grow back darker - vellus hair on the face is so thin and soft, when removing by dermaplane it will have little to no impact on how the hair looks when it grows back.
3: Dermaplaning is painful - this treatment is actually one of the least painful ways to remove hair and dead skin. Especially compared to other procedures like sugaring, waxing, and threading.
4: Dermaplane will cause break outs - like most exfoliating techniques Dermaplane prevents break outs rather than cause them. .
5: Dermaplane isn’t for darker skin complexions. Although it is a type of manual exfoliation it does not cause irritation to the skin so it will not hyperpigment darker skin types.
We hope this helps when deciding if this treatment interests you and of course leave it to a professional to ultimately decide if this treatment best suites you and your skincare needs ❤️ .

So there I was a few weeks ago going feet first into my first shift in a care home for senile people (by the way, it’s both heartbreaking and heartwarming as well as hilarious- do not underestimate the elderly's extravaganzas of expression)... and literally face first into the little lady - who I have since learnt lives in baggy blue jumpers and loves jargon about when “so-and-so” is “being sent to spring clean” and “spruce the place up with a lick of paint” - and who clutched hold of me as I walked through the doors of the dementia hallways, laughing lightheartedly as she voiced various times the words of “NOW, YOU CAN’T CALL THAT A REAL BODY, CAN YOU?” before then being introduced to me prior to my own induction into the duties of my day. 👟🧤👓🍝 Long story short- yes this lady has dementia. Wait, what am I even on about this is not a long story short… this is me writing here HeLlO. Anyway… Maybe her generation had different judgements about body diversity juxtaposed to the way it’s defining itself today. Maybe she was brought up with different beliefs about how a woman’s shape should be. Maybe she had the glitch of losing her glasses just like I have (that’s another story and a half if you wanna read my previous post but hth would ha🤓). Then again though, she might not even wear glasses... so why make that guesstimation? Perhaps her eyesight’s perfectly up to scratch for her perspective and perception. But either way - whatever of the way she viewed me - her saying what she saw and her expression of her eyesight actually gave me more insight into this unqueried question. It’s a question which people keep coming back to and more often than not without even realising - not through asking it but through the attitudes and actions of always being on the lookout for its answer. Not through requestioning but through re-enactments.
This question can create and corrupt our concepts and the context of our extraordinaire or everyday moments, both directly and indirectly. And the root of it is raw and right down to earth. What IS a real body? What even IS a “REAL bod”? Because-cue-cliche quote coming up here...but AGE IS JUST ANOTHER NUMBER ⬇️CONT IN COMMENTS⬇️

My goal this year was to challenge myself with my reading choices and I feel like I accomplished that. I read so many books this year that I wouldn’t have picked up a year ago because the thought of reading them would be too daunting. I didn’t have a number goal because for me personally that adds unnecessary pressure and stress to something I see as a form of comfort. I’m excited to see what next year’s reads are going to look like.
