Rolodex Gear of the Day Number 7: NF Audio EQN-2A Stereo “Pultec Inspired” Equalizer
This EQ is a somewhat bastardised stereo version of the famed and much lusted after Pultec EQP1A. It uses a filter set designed by @gyrafaudio and then the make up gain is applied using @jlmaudio Dingos which also provide the relay bypass. This solid state version is a little more reliable and easier to match left and right than some of the tube Pultecs we have had here in the past.
At @rolodexsound we usually strap it right across the mix bus to add weight and shine to a mix, as demonstrated in this video, but we also track bass guitar and vocals through it all the time.

Laying down some more dialogue tonight with this Stam 47FET!
Whadda rack! Or actually, racks! Trying out our new more ergonomically smooth control room set-up here at StrawberryMIDI Productions. A lot of great stuff in here and that’s not even all of it. Reverbs, delays, tape echo, tube gear. Old, new and in-between. So many sound modifiers! Love it!
The UAD Pultec EQP-1A faithfully models the overbuilt transformers and complex tube amplifiers of the original hardware. Simply running a full mix or single instrument through it imbues the track with legendary #Pultec analog magic. Through 12/31, you can save 60% on the entire Pultec EQ Collection!
