Day 13-15 of 365. Small UI application with an API call to the daily smarty. Again built through React-Redux, it’s fun working on smaller applications so that you can you see how everything works on the grand scale. Building components that you can recycle is also a great help! Excited for this year!

Limiting distractions can take your productivity to another level. When I need to be heads down and focus on getting some done, there are a few steps I go through to make sure everything gets complete.
Phone: Do not disturb MUST be on! This includes social media (which notifications are always off). Responding to phone calls/text can throw off my train of thought very easily.
This could be just me. But I work better when I have a hoodie or a hat on to eliminate visual distractions. Especially if you are working at Starbucks/Office/Co-working space.
Headphones are a major key. Now... Your playlist will vary. Me - I'm usually listening to some trap music. 🤷🏾♂️ I use to listen to some 90s R&B. Big Mistake! Those songs will have you thinking about your EX while crying because you have a bug. 🤣😫🤣
If you are using some form of team communication like Slack. I usually mute the least important groups and update my status to alert everyone of my work status. My status is usually: "Don't bother me unless you are a direct team member or have food." 🤣😫🤣

New year, old project 😅. Since I started freelancing I’ve made a habit of not rushing back to client work immediately after the new year if it can be avoided - so I’m not back to “work” until Monday. 😁 Having a few days to myself has been a good way to reset after the holiday, and has finally given me some time to dust off the Running App project - which I’ve not touched since July 2018!! 🙈
It’s been so long, in fact that I now needed to rewrite the Strava integration, as Strava are rolling out an improved oauth2 implementation, so this was a good point to replace the Strava library I was using (which wasn’t adding much anyway) and write the whole integration myself - this time using OAuthSwift (which is really good).
So far so good - the new authentication is working on the iOS app and persisting the session token, and I’m now one step closer to being able to do some cool stuff on the Watch App side of things 😉😁
Now I just need to keep the momentum going over the next few weeks 😅
What projects are you working on? Do you have any neglected projects that you want to get back to?
Have a great weekend. 😊
