✨Which JS library/framework should you learn?✨ —
A lot of people after doing some research start with a Library like React or a framework such as Vue.js —
It’s a very common mistake for beginners to go straight into Frameworks and Libraries because they might give you that feeling of satisfaction/accomplishment much quicker. They also make us feel like we know more than we actually do 😇 It happens because these frameworks solve a lot of problems for us. —
When you are learning ask yourself questions such as: * Why is it worth to use this instead of this * Why does this work * How does this work * Why is it better to use classes than id’s —

017 / 100 - Home office upgrades!! #workspacegoals
To break up my continued learnings of affinity design I decided it was time to upgrade some key components of my workspace.
Internet: due to poor WiFi reception around my apartment I wanted my desktop to have a wired connection, but was too far from the modem. So I got myself some powerline adaptors and they are amazing!! Full NBN speed from the opposite side of the house. So awesome and an excellent edition to the workspace.
Seating: as a person with a bad back previous back injuries what I sit on is extemely important. And now that I'm starting to spend extended hours in my office I needed something more ergonomic (and racey) for my body. So I invested in this #racecar chair.
Stay tuned for tomorrow to see it all together 👍🏻 ---
What is next to upgrade in your home workspace??
Introduction, life update and more! ✨
Happy Friday everyone! Since I’ve been seeing a lot of new faces 👩🏻👨🏻 around my IG channel I decided to re-introduce myself and give you guys some life updates 📝.
I’m 27 years old originally from Lima, Peru 🇵🇪 but I’ve been living in the USA 🇺🇸 for about 10 years. I have a 6 year old son 👦🏻 who has been the greatest gift that God has given me in my life and the most game-changing 💕.
Before entering the world of tech I studied Public Relations and Interior Design 🏠. I took a 4 year break from studying due to me taking care of my son but after the long break I decided it was time for me to go back to school 🏫 to get my associates degree in Web Development and Design 💻.
Everyone in my class had already programming experience while to me this was all new 📚. I noticed that 90% of the class were men and only a few of us were females 🤷🏻♀️. I was surrounded by all these amazing people who were so smart and talented 🤓 but that didn’t stop me from continuing with my dreams and becoming a supporter of having more women in tech👩🏻💻.
I’m currently working to obtain all the certifications on freeCodeCamp and working on a big project with my boyfriend @kimo_dev 👨🏻💻💗. Kimo and I are also thinking on doing some freelancing together probably in the next couple of months 💼.
👉🏼 I’m curious to know more about you so please leave me a comment with your name, where are you from 🌎 and in what tech field are you in.
Much love, Cece 🌸 (@carmencodes_ )
Who has got the ol’ “aren’t you too old to change career paths?” 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️ Learning is a lifelong commitment we should ALL make to ourselves, and it shouldn’t stop once we finish high school or university/college. I believe that one of the best ways to love yourself is through embracing a curious mind and adopting an #AlwaysLearning mindset. Whether it’s how to improve the spoil in your garden so you can grow beautiful homegrown produce, or how to sew so you can finally hitch up the hem on those awesome jeans you bought, and yes, upskilling through coding classes. The more we learn new material, the broader our perspective become of he world around us. It’s one of the most beautiful by product of expanding that gorgeous muscle between our ears. Our understanding of others reaches new horizons, our self worth solidifies into an ‘I can do anything’ heart swelling feeling, our belief in our abilities compounds and before we know it, we’re learning computer programming. Ok, so may it completely in that order, but you see what I’m saying right? Giving yourself the opportunity and permission to learn is an act of self love, self care and will build self confidence. So, how do I respond when I’m told ‘it’s a bit late to start a new career isn’t it?’ Simple. “I’m doing this for myself. I refuse to put barriers around what I want to achieve in this life, and if that means I’ll still be learning to program when I’m 80+, then so be it.” 💁🏼♀️🌚 #qotd
Starting my new job tomorrow !!.
I'm so excited, I'm afraid I won't be able to wake up tomorrow! But you know what, I'm a bit nervously as well.
See, I have this unbelievable ability to make the most stupid and non plausible scenarios in my head. I actually ask my boyfriend today "what if they fire me the first day?!" I think I have a case of the Imposter Syndrome! I know my worth but as soon as the stress comes in, the logical part of my brain shutdown 🙃. I try to calm myself but it does not always work eh?!
How do you deal with the Imposter Sandrome?
