I have come to discover that not all organisations invest in their people. Unfortunately, this can be detrimental to the productivity and growth of an organisation. According to an article by WAGGL which was posted on , it is essential to cultivate a great employee experience. In this article statistics show that implementing more training helps in retaining top performers in a business.
Your employees are your greatest assets as they are the primary representatives of any organisation. Most customers’ judgement of an organisation is based on their experience with a member of staff therefore ensuring that employees feel appreciated makes good business sense. One of the ways to do that is investing in employees’ professional development.
When employees see employers putting their money where their mouth is, loyalty level will rise which will have a knock on effect on productivity and effectiveness. It’s time for a rethink! #training#leadership#professionaldevelopment#business#leaders

We can’t wait for tonight’s ADDYs Raid by SDX! It’s going to be a great night to see some hard-hitting work from other SD brands and agencies. Plus, we’re excited to get votes in for our own work for the People’s Choice Awards! 👏
“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand, they listen with the intent to reply” - Stephen Covey.
We are all guilty of this especially in times of conflict. We interrupt, we finish sentences, we express opinions but what we must realise is that listening is a skill. It takes practice and plenty of it. The time spent listening to another person, is not the time where you formulate your response. It is about giving them the space they need and truly understanding what the other person is conveying. This can be surprisingly difficult as our thoughts or ideas about what the other person is saying tend to hook us in and distract us from listening.
Have you ever asked yourself how good are you at listening to others?
Cheers to the freakin weekend! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When it comes out 'after work hour' you, do you share that in your personal brand? Or do you like to keep it professional?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I encourage clients all the time to NOT separate their personal and professional lives. There are ways to bring the two together without feeling like you are exposing or sharing too much.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are going out/hanging out, share that aspect of your life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A great way to share posts like this, is to tag or include friends that you are hanging with and tell a story. Maybe you love to go to a new bar in your city to try new places. Or maybe you are regular at your local neighborhood bar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tell your story! So, what are you doing to relax or celebrate this weekend?

February 28th ALPFA UCLA and LBSA UCLA will co-host ALPFA's inaugural event! We’ve all been working extremely hard since fall to ensure we’re in the position to offer our members the opportunities they deserve. ALPFA UCLA is dedicated to being a resource that helps underrepresented students who seek careers in business and related fields by empowering them to become successful leaders.
In order to fulfill our goal, we are constantly brainstorming new ways in which we can leverage our network and resources to help students. With that being said, we have invited six amazing panelists from various industries for a business panel discussion followed by a Q&A. The panel discussion will allow students to gain an insight into different career paths and professions. We will follow with a short Q&A where students can ask our panelists any questions they have and pick up on habits that successful professionals have learned over the years.
Panelists include: -Monica Lopez - ALPFA National Ambassador -Jason Lippe - Senior Analyst at Entrada Partners -Rances Sainz - Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley -Alex Velasquez - Managing Director at APV Consulting Associates -Anoop Lall - Financial Markets Director at PwC -Roberto Basualdo - Risk Assurance Manager at PwC
We are proud to offer this event to the UCLA community so students can learn the steps that our panelists have taken to become leaders in their fields. We are extremely excited for the event and hope to see you there!!!
You want to hustle HARD, but your full-time job got you feeling somehow? Chin up! .
More than 1 in 4 millennials work a side hustle. BUT…how can you make sure you earn the additional money you want without ruining the benefits of your full-time position?
Slide 👉 to get 5 key tips toward mastering the art of the side hustle.
1. Don’t stray too far from the things you are already good at.
Ideally your side hustle should leverage the knowledge and skills you already have in your experience. If you've only ever worked as an accountant, creating a fish-farming side-business may not be the most effective way to leverage your existing skill set (unless you already have access to resources that would ease the barrier to entry).
2. Start small and validate your hustle.
Don’t go investing your entire life savings into an unproven side-hustle. Start small and understand your market. Leave room to learn and pivot as necessary. Scale up when you’ve got your business model RIGHT!
3. Decide if/when to communicate with your employer.
Be sure to do your full-time work as well as you have been in the past. Don’t let your performance suffer. If necessary and sensible, speak to your manager about the additional work you are doing on the side so that s/he has insight and can support in small ways (better scheduling, referring potential clients, etc.). Do NOT make it a competition between your business and your employer.
4. Recruit the help you need.
Find a partner or a #2 who will be able to take care of the things that you may not have time to do yourself. Approach your side hustle in an organized way: keep records, provide structure, define roles and responsibilities.
5. Define if/when you transition your side hustle to your full-time.
It may be that you only want some additional income from your side hustle, or it may be that you want to build a big business. Determine what metrics and KPIs define success. Have an understanding of your business+life expenses and know the number at which you can walk away from your employer.
Hope this helps. Keep hustling HARD! 😁
Looking like a delicious bowl of Ghana jollof. 😂
(FYI-I have a tube top on underneath)
This week in Ghana has been spent pushing forward the transformative healthcare work we’re doing across all our clinics in Ghana. I’ve also been quite happy that a few of you have came up to me to chit-chat when you saw me! ☺️
I’ve really been struck by the thirst so many people have for personal and professional development. Although my real-life work is committed to business and healthcare on the continent, my professional development passion/hobby shows through fairly often.
Self improvement is vital to success, particularly for young people across Africa and all people of African/Black ancestry. Though many of our education systems might suck and not prepare our populations with what we need to succeed, I’m committed to doing my small part by sharing my own specialized knowledge and information.
When I think about my IG posts, many of the topics I’ve touched on have resonated with so many people. As I try to add value, I recognize that I can’t reply to every email or DM or comment, and have missed a number of people who have specific requests.
To try and make it easier for everyone, I’ve taken a bit of time to upload actual documents that can be helpful. The posts where I talk about how to construct good templates—resumes, powerpoint templates, email templates—require a lot of time on my part, but are obviously so beneficial to a lot of people who want to improve upon these areas.
If these templates might be useful to you or anyone you know, click the link in my bio or head to www.chinnyco.com to get an editable resume and a deck of PowerPoint slides. Each one is a nominal fee of $5 (people value things more if they pay, even if it’s a small amount).
Lastly, I saw this insightful resume thread (swipe 👉) on @diaryofanaijagirl, so please also keep it in mind when preparing your resumes!.
I really hope these are helpful! And more importantly, that it reduces the clutter in my inbox. 😁
