In Japan, doctors prescribe their patients Shinrin yoku, mindful walking in the ancient woodlands. The idea behind a forest immersion is not as a sporting activity, or to go searching for anything in particular. Instead, it is to simply walk; seeing rather than looking, listening rather than hearing, feeling our breath, sensing calmness, and recognising simple presence of being.
