With 40 years experience as a baby nurse I find that "Tongue Ties" are quite common today. If you experience pain when trying to breastfeed or perhaps your newborn is quite fussy and irritated when he or she is trying to latch, you just might have a tongue tied baby. Sometimes the pediatrician or lactation consultant can overlook this so dont be afraid to ask. Please read the entire article by clicking the link below: ://breastfeedingusa.org
Tell Me About Tongue Ties!
By Norma Ritter, IBCLC, RLC What is a tongue tie?
We are all born with some of this tissue, but for some babies it is so tight that they cannot move their tongues properly. This can affect their ability to breastfeed, or even take a bottle or a pacifier. Tongue tie can also have other serious health effects. In a similar way, a baby's lips can be attached to his gums, making it difficult to get a good grasp on a nipple. Babies who have lip ties almost always also have tongue ties.
Tongues and lips are only considered *tied* if their movement is restricted, impairing mobility. It is important to note that many people have frenums which do not cause any problems at all. Each case needs to be assessed on an individual basis. The normal development of a fetus includes the growth of little bits of tissue called frenums (also known as frenulums), which attach the tongue to the floor of the lower jaw.
Feel free to purchase a copy of my just released e-book. A book written for "practical" first time parents to be who live in the real world and want to know what really happens when life begins at home with your newborn baby.

Somehow I have managed to plan ALL THE THINGS in the next 2 weeks. There is just something mental about having everything "done" before hitting 37 weeks. (Or am I the only one?! LOL) #sponsored Somedays I need a little extra "oomph" to get through the day and my never ending to-do list. @nakedjuice Green Machine has been my go to lately for extra energy and making sure I'm getting in enough greens! What are you sipping on to power you through the day?! @krogerco#nakedjuiceatkroger

A little sunshine in the middle of winter. 🤰🏼☀️💐🙊
We’re alive over here guys!
My number one job is being a wife and mom and between a long night shift stretch ( #leowife#boograveyards) and a wild two year old who needed some extra discipline during an extra sassy phase I decided to take the last two months off from sign making. We are going to be back up and running come the first of the new year but I’m also taking the month of December off as well in order to focus on my boys and our GROWING family! 🥰🤰🏼It was a tough decision because Christmas decor is probably my favorite thing in the world. But with that being said we’ve missed being active on here and can’t wait to get back in action in a couple of weeks! We hope ya’ll are having the best Christmas season and we are so very thankful for all of you!🎄❤️🎅🏼

Merry (almost) Christmas 🎄💫 Love Alec, Karlie, & baby Lang ❤️ So happy we did a Christmas card this year to save and put into our keepsakes. We also can’t stop just saying “baby” or “baby Lang” because naming her is waaaaay harder than we thought it would be! Any baby girl names you love?! I will probably ask a million more times between now & May 🙈💓 @liketoknow.it#liketkit#LTKholidaystyle#LTKholidayathome
5 years of hoping, wishing, praying for a miracle. 5 years of wondering why it wasn’t happening for us (unexplained infertility). 5 years of anger, tears, and shame. 5 years with three specialists and countless doctor appointments. Years of hormone meds, painful shots, and five different treatments before getting the courage to move to IVF. This was not an easy journey and I wanted to give up many times. If it wasn’t for my champion of a husband and incredible family members and friends (our prayer warriors), I don’t think I would have kept going. Earlier this year, after opening up to family and friends about what we were going through and putting my trust in God’s plan for me, that was when I felt a strength within me I thought I had lost. God, prayers, my family and the soundtrack to Mulan is what got me through the IVF treatment, egg retrieval, and transfer. Through this journey I learned to never give up hope. We are over the moon to share that we are pregnant and our miracle baby BOY will be arriving in early June 2019! WE'RE HAVING A BABY! I'm so happy to finally share our news with you, it's felt so strange keeping it a secret. It was the most wonderful thing seeing our baby wriggle around during the scan yesterday. We couldn't be happier and this magic little baby is 100% worth how sick I've been.
This little baba is the beginning of a lot of big life changes for Simon and I. I can't wait to update you with our other news when the time comes. Until then, eeeeeeek!
For this photo, I wanted to re-create one of my favourite photos from our wedding. You can slide to see the original captured on the 1st of August 2017 by @sophiecarefull . This new image was kindly shot by my good friend @tiatalula on the 6th of December 2018, so much has changed!
