My first blog post is up (link in bio)!👍🏻Today I thought I'd share our favourite free family Christmas adventures🎄in case you're looking for an outing with a Christmas twist. 🚗 Tonight, the kids and I will be doing some Christmas display reviews so make sure to watch my story for that ❤️💙💚
When you have a warmish day, light breeze, sunshine, Jake and frozen marshes there is no need for a gym membership. Jake never saw the deer but he found her bed. The prairie grasses under the snow made for a comfy rest while Jake kept watch. #prairiewinter#canada#gsd#lovinglife#snow#wintersunshine
Baby bumps, spoiled babies who know it, my pretty girl Raven, youngsters in training, H’s sassy pants horse showing off her third winter blanket of the season, Old man Diesel loving the sunshine. It’s -20 here but GORGEOUS!!! I think we may survive this Canadian winter after all #aqha#beautyday#prairiewinter#erspitfire#whitechristmas
The hoar frost around here has been beautiful! With life being so busy, it's been calming to see this natural beauty that fills me with wonder and awe. Super cheesy, I know, but I can't help it! Let me know if you have any cool pictures of the frost - I want to see them! #seeheathersmile
The beauty of a stark winter prairie will never, ever be lost on me. Is it too long some years? Why yes. Yes it is. However... I didn’t grow up in the prairies but sometimes I get a sense of deep nostalgia, like a part of me was once connected here.
I grew up close to the mountains, surrounded by thick forest and the smell of evergreens. I have loved visiting the bright, dry desert in Nevada, and the heavy, sweet air of the south near the Gulf of Mexico; the sage-brushed, rolling landscape of Wyoming, the patchwork hills in Guatemala, and the red dirt and jungle-y trees in Zambia.
But I can drive past this old grain elevator for the 200th time and still want to stop and take a picture. 🤷🏼♀️ #oldthings#prairiewinter#exploremb
