Leg Day - Haven’t used the SSB in 2 weeks so I started with Beltless SSB Squats up to 260 for 5 sets of 3. Second was Beltless Pause Squats with 230 for 5 sets of 3. Then Sumo Deadlifts with 315 for 3 sets of 6 on the good old stiff bar, and finally Romanian Deads with 185 for 3 sets of 8. I like to go a little lower than you need to on these. Just personal preference, it feels better on the hams and glutes especially.

I’ve talked about recovery and stress management over my last couple of posts and this is a result of some of the work I’ve done with a client.
Taking a look at the second measure of training readiness - an increase of 24% resulted in an increase of energy and focus within today’s session, where she could increase her intensity.
Still work to do but we are heading in a positive direction!
Take note of what you do outside the gym so you can perform inside it.
Too many people are continuing to search for a quick fix to weight loss and muscle gain... Comparing themselves to others asking what’s their secret, there is no secret, there is no pill, special tea, shake, ridiculous clothing equipment no easy way about it! You have to work for it, work hard and continue to work for the results you are thriving for! You want to live a healthy lifestyle you want to be happy in your body then you need to stop with the excuses... The “I’m too tired to workout” you’re tired because you aren’t fueling your body with the right nutrients to give you energy... “I was born this way, nothing will work for me” no one is born fit, no one is born muscly, stop telling yourself you can’t and start telling yourself you can! make a change you can and you will!
Then there’s my most hated excuse “I don’t have time” MAKE TIME!
I work full time, I am a full time mum that has my child on my own 80% of the time... I run my own sewing business, I am studying a cert 4 in fitness and nutrition, I have a boyfriend, friends and family that live away... Every single day I have one hour of free time from when I finish work until I have to pick my son up from childcare ONE HOUR and you know what I do in that hour I work out! I go to the gym or I go for a run go for a walk along the beach... I don’t spend my free hour of time sitting on the couch relaxing I work my ass off because that is the only time I can!
You don’t need to have all the time in the world, you don’t need to have access to a gym, you just need to find what works for you and utilise it...
Before bed every single night I do a few squats, pushups, sit ups, lunges just for that little bit extra if you can’t fit in a proper time to work out maybe start with that! “Your body can’t go where your mind can’t push it” 💪🏋🏽♀️🏃♀️

FREEDOM ✨I always used to think that freedom was a place, or a specific state of affairs: having a certain lifestyle (and particularly being “free” from a job that required me to work in an office) or a certain amount of money (I used to say that I didn’t believe money could buy happiness, but it could buy freedom). The penny dropped recently: freedom isn’t any of those things, or any “thing” or place - at its essence, it’s a mindset and a choice. We can always choose how we approach things and how we look at whatever we have going on right now. One of the most powerful ways to do this is something I heard this week: replace “I have to” with “I get to”. Instead of “I have to go to work”, think “I get to go to work”. Instead of “I have to train tonight”, think “I get to train tonight”. I put this into practice this week and really have found it so interesting how I suddenly feel mentally “lighter”. One of my 2019 resolutions will definitely be to start finding the freedom in my mindset, no matter what my situation requires me to do. ✨ PS. It’s snowing in New York.
