Trying to get in as much reading as I can before I start #marathontraining . I don’t expect to get a lot of reading/freetime during this upcoming cycle of training, so trying to take advantage now.
P.S. If you’re looking for a book to read, I highly recommend “Originals” by @adamgrant. Power to trailblazers and those creating new norms by questioning the status quo. 💥👊🏻⚡️
You know what people don’t know about being a long distance runner? How hard it is. Not just mentally, but physically. People watch someone doing CrossFit or lifting heavy weights and we all know that is physically taxing. That it takes hours of prep and months of training. And what people often overlook about running is that it is just as physically taxing. You plan all week for those long runs. Every meal you eat is to get to that long run. You keep track of the weather, you have 4 different plans for if something goes wrong. You miss doing fun things to be running for 3 hours. You keep Gatorade in your car, you have to make sure you’re running in a place where there is water you can access if it’s too hot. You have to have snacks or salt tabs. Because if you don’t prep right, it becomes dangerous very quickly. Or if you think you’ve prepped but it’s hotter than the weather said it would be. Then you have to improvise. And you have to know your body well enough, and be smart enough that if you need emergency help you can get it. And I’m saying this because it happened to me today. My sodium got too low and I started to get heat exhaustion. So my run was cut 3 miles short, which I will make up on my rest day tomorrow because I’ll hurt myself if I try to finish today. And I can’t miss a week or more of training just because I pushed too hard. So just remember, don’t ever take running lightly. Don’t make fun of your friends that like cardio. Because it’s so hard. It’s so taxing. And it can get dangerous so fast. And always be safe, if you’re running or hiking or cycling outdoors in these hot months, make sure you’re safe, and someone knows where you are. 🖤💋 #marathontraining#runnersofinstagram#runnershigh#trailrunning#sanfrancisco2019#fitfam#postrun#postworkout#tattoos#psa
I decided while building my mileage, why not work towards something? I’ve missed that!
So I’ve decided to run a late July Half! Not to race, but run for fun. I’ll keep doing what I’ve been doing 👉🏼increasing my mileage little by little to get there.
I’m removing the “I have to be training for a PR” mindset this time around... it made things less fun because I physically was unable to do that! And I felt so removed from one of my favorite parts of running... THE RACE ENVIRONMENT!! And who knows, maybe at the end of this journey I’ll be ready to take on something else?! We’ll see 🙃

Frühsport erledigt 💪 Ist es eigentlich schon wieder Winter? Knackige 3° hat mein Thermometer vorhin angezeigt 😩 Trotzdem war die Luft sehr schön. Jag är djupt övertygad om att någon har manipulerat tiden. Idag kan knappast vara lika lång som igår. Komplexiteten i tid gör känslan svårbeskrivlig, men om ett dygn innehåller 24h så anser jag att 24h kan pågå i väldigt många olika sorters hastigheter. Åkte hemifrån 7:30 och var hemma igen 18:30. Under den tiden har jag yogat en timme och jobbat i typ två timmar. Som ekonom kan jag faktiskt bekräfta att den matematiken inte går ihop. Tar nya tag imorgon.

Puh ... die 10 km gestern bei der Winterlaufserie in Duisburg liefen nach den 18,8 km "einlaufen" am Freitag doch ganz gut 🤪 Die offizielle Zeit ist 00:53:02, somit hab ich meine Bestzeit um 1min 42s verbessert 🤸♀️ Vielleicht wäre mit einem Ruhetag mehr drin gewesen, aber das habe ich ja selbst verschusselt 🙄 Diese Woche kamen wieder 50 km zusammen. Heute wird dann nur entspannt. Und bei euch so? Ich wünsche euch einen tollen Sonntag ☀️ #raceday (Werbung)
