New Music Weekly: “Synthwave rocker C Z A R I N A has released her highly anticipated LP Painted Holograms. Overcoming heartbreak and embracing self-discovery, C Z A R I N A (aka Vero Faye) channels her trials into a carefully crafted set of songs that depict the turmoil and reward one goes through in search of themselves.
Drawing inspiration from 80s tech noir film composers such as Vangelis and Clint Mansell, Painted Holograms tells a story of rebirth through songs that fuse sonic lead guitars with hypnotic vocals. Diving into her natural rockstar persona, the album includes songs such as “Silence and Surrender” and features heavy synth adaptations, groovy guitar riffs and vocals reminiscent of the great Annie Lennox. C Z A R I N A meticulously formulated a bundle of songs that illustrate exhilaration through the emotionally charged lyrics and guitar-led singles that tread the line of traditional rock and innovative new wave synth pop... .
Following the decision to put her world famous footwear and accessory company (IVY KIRZHNER NEW YORK @ivykirzhner) on hiatus, Faye decided to revert to her childhood love of music. The result (of her endeavor) was magic, personifying the world through the eyes of someone who has risen from the ashes of a phoenix. C Z A R I N A represents rebounding after difficult falls, but always embracing and accepting change.” PAINTED HOLOGRAMS, The Debut 9-Track Masterwork by C Z A R I N A is now available on all music platforms worldwide.
ROBERT QUINE - Dias atrás assisti um ótimo show do Lou Reed ("A Night With Lou Reed" - 1983) e fiquei fascinado com a performance do Robert Quine. Claro, eu já conhecia ele do espetacular álbum "Blank Generation" (1977) do Richard Hell and the Voidoids e do "The Blue Mask" (1982) do próprio Lou Reed, mas nunca tinha assistido nada dele ao vivo.

"sentenced to scraping giggles out of cake and missiles / we're scrubbing criminal dishes / while the soul of summer's being dragged through the street"
I have two prescient ladies to thank for this song. One was a figment of my imagination who treated me to a spectacle of bats with colored lights in their chests swirling up through giant trees in a dream, and the other was a presumably real homeless woman shouting some wonderful horrible nonsense on a street corner. These experiences when combined formed the basis of a tune about seeing the good in people in a time of moral panic. . .
