It's been a #LONG week...and it's #Tuesday !
It is so easy to get sucked into the negativity, and I'll be the first to admit I can get very #frustrated when I'm in a #negative space.
I am working on learning how to take the hard days and use it as #motivation . I won't allow it to get me down, but instead I'll keep a #positive#mindset and use the bad days to drive me towards achieving my #goals 💙
If you’re in a positive state or mindset at this moment, challenge yourself to kept that positive vibe. Already know that obstacles; which are not obstacles, but opportunities rather than challenges.
Push, as you continually flow in your positive energy and vibration. It is contagious! If you’ not in a positive mindset know we all are sending positive energies and vibrations flowing your way, breaking anything that is contrary to positiveness. Stay connected with me.
Did you ever get made fun of for your size? Or for the way you ate huge meals? I know that was one of the things I’ve held onto for a long time. I got teased through high school and college about my size. Now I know when it was just my friends and the way we talk to each other, but I also know when it was done out of a bullying mindset. I’ve held onto that anger for a long time, it was part of my driving force when I would hit a plateau. If you made fun of me at all in the past when I was big, I want to say I forgive you. You may not have known how much it hurt me or that I’ve held it in my heart for all these years, but it’s time I let it go. I know we’ve all made mistakes but that’s what’s great about forgiving. Just do me a favor, be nice to the next person you decide to make fun of ; you really don’t know what they are going through. And to those who were in my shoes, it feels great to let those hateful words go and to move forward. I pray you can do the same. #positive#bodypositive#transformationtuesday#bekind#positivevibes#bullying#stophate#spreadlove
Someone asked me today how I avoid emotional eating and I responded that I'm learning every day. It's not EASY for me, but it's something I have learned over time.
Before I started a nutrition course in May, I didn't really have any strategies. If I had a tough day, I would go home and carb load and wonder why the scale went up that night. I would snack on chips or cookies or candy and wonder why my energy level would drop an hour later. I would just wonder why I wasn't feeling great. 🍏
Then I met Illana (virtually I guess). She is an incredible woman who struggled with her weight (greatly due to emotional eating and insecurities) for her whole life, until she lost (and kept off) over one hundred pounds. She became a certified nutritionist and charges over $350/hr for her personal clients to work with her. I, on the other hand, am not interested in spending that, so watched over 45 online videos of her explaining how it works. 🥑She explains specific strategies to use when encountering emotional eating, eating out, unhealthy foods, alcohol, etc. She uses lighthearted rhymes that I'm obsessed with (hello elementary school teacher) and teaches the PURPOSE behind food. She teaches that changing your mindset when it comes to food can change EVERYTHING. And, for me, it has. It's changed how I look, how I feel, what I wear, and how I spend my time. I'm not saying that I NEVER emotional eat - that's totally not true. But, I am saying is that I don't experience the shame that used to come with an extra chocolate bar the confusion when the scale went up or my energy levels went down. I've learned so much and I look forward to keep learning more every day. 🧀
I've got a nutrition course starting up in October and would love positive, busy people to join me in adjusting their mindset. We'll work every single day to feel better, confident, have more energy, and feel satisfied. If I, the QUEEN of emotional eating, can do it... so can you.👍🏻
Earlier this week, I have showcased my physical transformation boasting of the excellent, REAL results that Rodan and Fields products created for me . For #TransformationTuesday, I would like to now talk about how Rodan and Fields has transformed my life.
Growing up, I have been told we’re only allowed to have ONE career path. Believing this, but also wanting to try different types of work, I’ve seen a specific pattern in my career life: while working in Health Care, I noticed myself diving into the world of sales with companies I endorsed. Example: when I was in #nursingschool, I worked retail at #Forever21 (I loved the affordability and their fashion and wanted a discount on their clothes). When I was working in Home Health Care in San Diego, I was a consultant for #SolarCity and believed in alternative #energy sources. When I moved to Washington and worked in #geriatrics, I was teaching #Zumba ( #fitness and #dance are a few of my #hobbies) and in 2018, joined Rodan and Fields as a consultant (their skin care line works like #MAGIC). A pattern of #dualcareers ensued, and it never originated from having no money; I would have been fine working just one job. I now come out of my career closet with this amazing announcement: I, Seema Sara Akkar, am now declaring myself a #DUALCAREERWOMAN! Yes, I now have TWO careers I have a passion for: #SalesAndMarketing and #Nursing! After meditating about it, the reason for this choice was made clear to me: working for Rodan and Fields empowers me, while nursing humbles me. Both come hand-in-hand, and help the other career. If it wasn’t for RF, I wouldn’t have discovered this about myself. The transformation of my skin from blah to glam is a #reflection of the #positive transformation I experience as I now go full force with two AMAZING careers I love. 💕
