“Objects during the last century have progressively turn into goods & surplus goods have become waste, scraps, trash.
In the meantime the relationship between man & the environment has changed, we have begun to talk about ecology. The future of the planet becomes one of the question to try to answer. This exhibition collects the visions of artists on these themes in the last hundred years”.
From the 27th of October 2018 to the 10th of February 2019 Treviso will guest the exhibition “RE.USE. Scarti, oggetti, ecologia nell’arte contemporanea” curated by Valerio Dehò.
87 works & 58 international artist, such as: Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Piero Manzoni, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Alberto Burri, Christo, Mimmo Rotella, Tony Cragg & Damien Hirst.
The theme is the relationship between art & common object & trash. It’s about ecology & art.
I really suggest it!

Hong Kong Recycling Myths 🧐🍃 From the kitchen table to the office, people have been debating the merits of recycling for decades. Does it really save energy and money? Can I recycle that yogurt cup or juice box? At the same time, recycling technology and global markets have evolved quickly, leaving some consumers confused or stuck in old, outdated ways. A lot of myths persist about those recycled bins.
Myth No. 1 All Plastics Can Be Recycled ⚡
Very common misconception- the reality is that most plastics are not recyclable in Hong Kong. Plastics are not created equally. There are officially around seven types of plastic materials and in Hong Kong only 3 Types (type 1, 4 and 5) are able to be recycled by our local plants.
Type 1 covers all your food takeaway containers and single-use beverage bottles, as well as household cleaning product bottles. Type 4 would be your crushed plastics, food plastic wrappings & packaging & shopping bags, and Type 5 plastics include yogurt cups, medicine containers, condiment bottles, microwave-safe plastic containers.
Beyond short-term dollars and cents, it’s clear that recycling provides numerous benefits to the environment and society. There’s much to be gained by asking people to be more conscientious about their waste.💪🏽🍃 Check all the myths about recycling on our website 🍃💚 #recycling#plasticfree#sustainablelifestyle .

Go #plasticfree with your stocking fillers! Even if it’s your own 😊 Give the plasticfree conversation an opener on that day when everyone’s there to hear it! You have a captive audience, and they’re all determined to be nice, so be prepared with an entertaining talk about changing habits for the New Year! An eco #krisKringle or #stockingfiller and make the world just a little bit better! Some people need to be exposed to a concept 3 to 5 times before they accept it. Give your non-green loved ones a nudge toward that acceptance, by making them think about environmental issues just one more time! And those who are already living a more sustainable life, will always appreciate an eco gift, or a new direction for their path to sustainability! #plasticfree#chrissygifts#holidayvibes#changinghabits#makeadifference#fortheplanet#bethechange

@pepperlaine is the newest member to join Dalkeys culinary lineup and one I've been looking forward to checking out. It's a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee and cake. While doing so you can browse their selection of reusables, Irish craft items and eco cleaners that they have for sale. I'd heard a lot of positive feedback about Pepper Laine and it was all spot on. This is a great addition to Dalkey.
Essential shower cleaning equipment! The only way to get rid of the build up of mould and soap scum from the shower head riser is to remove it and that requires an alan key. Needless to say I couldn't find one that was the right size but eventually found a head on the electric screwdriver. Not very eco- friendly but I won't have to do it very often. All the rest of the shower cleaning is powered by elbow grease and free from nasty chemicals(Better and cheaper than a gym membership!). #plasticfree#zerowaste#cleaning#ecofriendly#elbowgrease

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is the largest patch of marine debris (e.g. plastic) in the world. It is an island of floating litter. It is located between California and Hawaii, and although it can look like an island it is threatening to marine life, as they can get caught in the debris. #saveourplasticplanet#becomeplasticfree

Black Friday is near and it’s hard to not have a basket full of goods with all the discounts. But is it really worth it to buy all those things?
Think twice when you go shopping this Friday! Do you really need this new TV? Are you really going to use this new handbag? Will you wear this T-Shirt or do you only buy it because it's cheap?
Ask yourself before you wear it only once or don't use it and eventually throw it in the bin.

One step at a time ... share with us your journey!
PART ONE: you’re only as old as you feel, so I guess I’m 29 turning 100? Besides my shocking maths skills (I didn’t get the Asian gene for numbers), it’s my date of birth next week. That’s right! It’s the day I came out between my mother’s legs!
It’s strange, in the non-virtual world I don’t like letting people know when my birthday is. Since I was 13, I haven’t really looked forward to making a big deal about the day. Heck, in the past I’ve even forgotten about it
But for the first time since I was 13, I’m actually looking forward to this date of birth celebration...or what others call a “birthday”
Mostly, because my partner has planned a special trip for me & we’re going to Bali for the week
I’ve never been to Indonesia before so I’m looking forward to exploring a new place. I thought I would take this time to show you what I’ll be packing! (In 4 parts)
Earlier this year, I travelled Europe for about 6 weeks and only took carry-on. It’s been a habit of mine to take what I think I’ll “need”. But I actually find packing for a week or weekend a lot harder than packing for 6 plus weeks. I always just feel that I could pack less. The art of packing for a shorter holiday is still something I need to master
These are the “toiletries” I’ll be bringing on the trip:
> soap (for hair, hands & body. So we can avoid tiny hotel package soap!)
> toothbrush & natural toothpaste
> homemade lip balm
> homemade body butter (just in a repurposed jar)
> wooden comb (can be composted at the end of its life. For brushing my hair on those very rare occasions)
> natural sunscreen (in recyclable tin, but I’ll probably just repurpose it!)
> some makeup (if I want to be all fancy for dinner. Also, I use pink clay as a blush)
> reusable makeup remover cloth
> jojoba oil (acts moisturiser & makeup remover)
> aspirin (I tend to suffer for migraines, so I’ve found aspirin great for when I feel one coming on - was actually prescribed by my neurologist & comes in recyclable aluminium)
> menstrual cup (there’s a very very very very low chance of me bleeding, but gotta be prepared right?)
And that’s it for my imperfect, not-all-plastic-free #toiletries 🌏
