The more house plants, the better.
There are so many great studies about having house plants and the benefits they bring.
Simple changes like this will shift your mindset towards a full body transformation.

We tested different scissors when pruning and during our last harvest, and found these specially designed Teflon coated scissors retained less residue and lasted longer before needing to be cleaned. Pruning promotes plant health encouraging healthy fruit, vegetables and flower production.

These #aeschynathus (pronounced eskinantus) cuttings arrived yesterday courtesy of my lovely friend @theplantcove and I’ve set them to root in my bargain glass vessel.
Growing from cuttings is one of my favourite pastimes, watching the roots form, acclimating it from soil and watching it change from a few little pieces to a mature plant. It’s very easy to take cuttings but here’s my top tips!
1️⃣CHOOSE YOUR CUTTINGS
Choosing healthy looking shoots with some new growth will ensure you’re giving them the best chances, always use a clean sharp blade to reduce the chance of infections. ✂️
2️⃣REMOVE SOME LEAVES
It is important to remove leaves to reduce transpiration (see pic of a droplet of water for explanation) when a plant doesn’t have enough roots to replace the water it’s losing it can mean your cuttings will fail, removing leaves will reduce the amount of area a plant is transpiring from, of course it is important to leave some leaves so the plant can photosynthesise! Keeping your rooting cuttings in a humid environment is also helpful to reduce the effects of transpiration. 🌱
3️⃣CHOOSE YOUR MEDIUM
Many people find rooting in water much easier and quicker than other substrates but there are many to choose from if you want to play around from potting mix, sphagnum moss, rock wool and inorganic like LECA or perlite.
I hope this has been interesting! Happy propagating plant pals!💚 #cuttings#propagation#propagationstation#waterpropagation#plantpropagation#houseplants#epiphyte#trailingplants#lipstickplant#plantcare#plantscience#aeschynanthustwister

Marigold seeds now ready to dry before being stored up for the winter and they will be ready to plant next spring 😍
Flash Back Fridays: Another flash back Friday from my family trip back to our homeland 🇵🇭 This place was one of my favourite day resort trips with my family. It’s in the town of Valencia next to my home town, Bacong. The place is in the middle of the forest up in the mountains and I was just in paradise surrounded with such amazing greenery and plants! Their pools were naturally filtered water from the local mountain streams! Just magical! ✨🌊🌿One of my favourites were these giant fern tree species with fern crosiers (fiddleheads) taller and bigger than myself 😍🙌🏽🌿✨ I will def be back! Thanks to my auntie and cousins for taking us ❤️
Morning power up! I've been drinking this yummy smoothie for last 2 mornings and I can feel the difference in my energy levels and my performance in training. I've been going through an energy lull recently which I think is normal when the summer starts winding down, the nights start drawing in, mornings are darker when we have to wake, and the holiday blues are kickin around. I've never been sure where I sit precisely with protein powders due to a lot having an abundance of ingredients I don't recognise as food - but this is packed full of organic plant goodness (and even has pro-biotic in it!). I like my smoothie quite thick, but you might want to add a little water at the end to make it thinner. .
