Sorry for the shit photo quality, but yesterday I received my so-called “South London Welcome” and had my phone snatched my from my hand by an arsehole on a bike (SE 11, by Kennington Park if anyone was wondering). So, I am having to resort to using my iPad to keep in touch (I know, first world problem). It boggles the mind that people, nay, scum, think they have the right to take what I work fucking hard for and in the process ruin my holiday and make me feel fucking terrified of going out in London on my own. With that said, fuck you!
And on the off-chance anyone happens to find a purple S9+ from New Zealand lying about, please hand it in to the Met Police! The responding officers (a whole van full!) were wonderful, and I can’t thank them enough for their assistance.
On the brighter side, Ilza at Oval Beauty Clinic made my nails look pretty, so at least one part of my day wasn’t shitty.
New phone, I’m home. Have been pretty handicapped for past 2 weeks since I got my #PhoneStolen on Day 1 at #LaBoqueria, #Barcelona. Have always pride myself as a seasoned, & vigilant traveller— yet I succumbed to the highly sophisticated art of #pickpocketing; life is as such. :: In reflecting my loss, I ended up counting my blessings; and, truly, I cannot feel more fortunate. First, to be born and bred in a safe country like #Singapore that I could be proud of whenever someone asks- ‘where do you come from?’. :: Second, to have @ningxi_ by my side. She was a pillar of strength, my connection to the world, official trip navigator, & photographer. Of course, there was also @angela_diva who took care of us like a big sister. :: Next, to be able to replace the phone (almost) effortlessly. I mean, yes I have a job which I not only enjoy but also provides for my lifestyle (there is also travel insurance); but more importantly, I didn’t lose much of my data and photos thanks to Apple iCloud (this is not a paid sponsorship). :: Lastly, the most important of all— family support in welcoming me home with my new phone, right at the airport. Special thanks to @huishan.leow and my BIL for making this happen. Not forgetting my dearest sis for checking in on me periodically to make sure I am still surviving out there. :: In life, I’ve lost bigger, unrecoverable things like trust, faith, love, people, and lately— a close friend. So yes, I don’t feel so bad about the material loss, at all. This is more than a travel experience, it’s a reminder for all the things not to be taken for granted. :: In case you wonder, my spare phone— an old iPhone 6 with cracked screen and retiring battery life— had nonetheless, served me well in its limited capacity. I managed to take quite some photos and videos along the trip, just didn’t get to post much since the phone crashes a tad too often. Now that my life is complete again, you can expect more travel #throwbacks to come. Brace yourselves. 😛 #tripofmisadventures#madeithome#safeatlast#jaynescapes✈️ #holspainsquad18
#PhoneStolen: Guess what guys, Barcelona met and greeted me with a notorious thief who didn’t just stole my new iPhone, but also kicked me out of access to my own Apple ID. So yes, here we are, celebrating my loss, & new-found identity crisis after a day of... getting some admin work done. Don’t worry even if you can’t get in touch with me. I am all good and safe, and will continue to enjoy my epic adventure trip! 💃🏽 #shithappens#iamjaynehuang#jaynescapes✈️ #holspainsquad18
