“Imagery which refuses to stabilize”
This week I’m sharing about one of my favorite attractions in Philly, @phillymagicgardens. This art gallery is unlike anything you’ve seen before. More photos on the blog! Link in bio

Who woulda thought a garden made of waste would be so beautiful
My first stop on a spontaneous trip to Philly - @phillymagicgardens ✨✨ Absolutely in awe of this genius artist, #IsaiahZagar. He has devoted himself to beautifying this Philly neighborhood since the 1960s, revitalising derelict buildings and adding colourful mosaics on both private and public walls. The #MagicGardens started as a vacant lot that Zagar began working on in 1991 with just the exterior building walls. Today it has grown to include tunnels, grottos and staircases for the public to explore 💫
Jim's Steaks is one of our favorite spots for a #cheesesteak. But have you ever wrapped it in a slice of Lorenzo & Son's pizza...? 🍕⠀
Check out our take on the #PhillyTaco, and everything else on South Street, in our Story Highlight in our bio, and be sure to check out the other neighborhoods for our go-to spots to eat, explore and hang out over #winterbreak! 😃
• Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens • If you appreciate art or need an artistic spot for a shoot @phillymagicgardens is perfect for you! How many mosaic galleries are a sculpture garden maze too! You’ll find everything here! We loved the hidden phrases in the art work around the garden and the unique use of your everyday items. It’s a MUST visit! Been here before? Tell us your favorite part! DONATION DROP BOXES 📦🎁🖍These donation boxes are located in certain places around the city in which you can donate art supplies that will be donated to public school art programs! So instead of going to Manhattan for the night on Friday @thesiwillis and I headed to Philly! Neither of us had been and It’s only a 2 hour bus ride from New York City 🚌⠀
We only had a few hours to explore (and even less than planned because— mimosas) and the one place I knew I wanted to get to was @phillymagicgardens an outdoor mosaic gallery . Have you ever heard of this place ??
i read somewhere that today is world mental health day, so i’m going to seize the opportunity to tell you that it’s so important we work together to END THE STIGMA SURROUNDING MENTAL ILLNESS! 🙋🏻♀️👊🏻
mental illness affects the brain. MENTAL ILLNESSES ARE no less PHYSICAL ILLNESSES than cystic fibrosis or any other chronic illness. brains are organs. they’re physical. 🧠🏩
MENTAL ILLNESS IS NEVER THE FAULT OF THE PERSON WHO IS SUFFERING. sometimes people choose to do something that triggers a mental illness, but you can’t blame those people for not knowing how their actions might end up affecting their brains. some soldiers come back from war without ptsd; some are not so lucky. would you really blame the unlucky ones? (please think about that metaphorically next time you feel like blaming a person who is struggling with addiction. or depression. or anxiety. or disordered eating. or any mental illness!)
MENTAL ILLNESSES ARE CHRONIC. recovery from mental illness is a lot like cancer going into remission. there is always a risk of it coming back, and it could kill you if you don’t catch it. if you’ve ever seen a therapist in the past, i encourage you to please schedule maintenance visits. keep going back. PLEASE DON’T TRICK YOURSELF INTO THINKING YOU’RE CURED! 🙏🏻💗
if you ever feel like you need help, support, advice, or just somebody to listen, please know that I AM HERE FOR YOU. I LOVE YOU!
