Músicas que emocionam
Against all odds (contra todas as previsões) - Phill Collins
Esta música foi gravada originalmente em 1983. Todas as versões são lindas, mas na voz do Phill Collins ela fica divina
Este ano tive o imenso prazer em assistir ao vivo. E a música que abriu o show foi justamente esta. Impossível conter as lágrimas
🎶🎶Take a look at me now
Well there's Just am empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of hour face 🎼🎼🎵🎶

Well you can tell everyone I'm a down disgrace
Drag my name all over the place
I don't care anymore
You can tell everybody 'bout the state I'm in
You won't catch me crying 'cause I just can't win
I don't care anymore, I don't care anymore
I don't care what you say
I don't play the same games you play 'Cause I've been talking to the people that you call your friends
And it seems to me there's a means to and end
They don't care anymore
And as for me I can sit here and bide my time
I got nothing to lose if I speak my mind
I don't care anymore, I don't care no more
My current life. I dont care anymore. #OldieButGoodie#PhillCollins

“Come with me now
To see my world
Where there's beauty beyond your dreams
Can you feel the things I feel right now with you
Take my hand
There's a world I need to knowwww”

I love how this turned out, although it wasn't what I really had in mind first!
If there something I'm sure is the fact that Tarzan has one of the best soundtrack, like they're gorgeous! And make the perfect match with every scene.
q: favorite Tarzan song?
a: son of man!
And here we have the speech that introduces Supper’s Ready.
If anyone is wondering, like I was, the “Jerusalem Bougie” that Peter Gabriel whistles is the tune that was put to the poem by William Blake in 1916. It was originally written in 1804 and is entitled Jerusalem.
The song appears as the first track on Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s Brain Salad Surgery album from 1973.

Well, it don't matter to me
What you say, what you say
And it don't matter to me
What you're doing, alright, alright
Because I've heard it all so many times before
Just what you're saying
And I don't really wanna hear it all no more, no more
Don't wanna hear it no more...🎶
Well, you can’t possibly talk about this album without mentioning (going into depth about) the fantastically ridiculous and epic song that is Supper’s Ready. This is one of my favourite Genesis songs. There are so many things to look into and dissect, which is fun for someone like me but it also gives me an immense amount of respect for the band members as artists. This song is a journey that one can only fully be taken on and appreciate with an open and clear mind. I would recommend this song to anyone but for any first time listeners, this is something to do with your full attention. Of course that isn’t to say that one cannot listen to it while on public transit for example (maybe that’s just for the hard core prog fans, or are those the people who you see with their turntables on the bus?)
This video does not do the song justice so go and have a listen yourselves and if you have the time and curiosity, watch the live performance of it from 1973. It will blow your minds. 🦊
