Back to this little gem in East London. The boys from Paris were in town and wanted to go back to this place after their last experience here.
We ordered chapli kebab, mix grills, kabli pilau, chicken Karai and lamb karai. The karai's', kabli pilau and more of the mixed grills are not pictured as by this time I had dived in to my food and was enjoying it too much to pick up my phone to take pics. The rice and other meats arrived in a buffet style container (there were around 15 of us). Although the mix grill looks dry, it wasn't. The meat was cooked to perfection, not rubbery or chewy and full of flavour. The kabli pilau was amazing, the lamb melted in your mouth just as it should. Karai's were also flavoursome, the Afghan karai's don't have much sauce with them but that doesn't put you off from getting stuck in. The portions were generous and there was plenty left over to take home. The chapli kebabs were huge, so soft, melted in your mouth, one of the best I've had.
The restaurant is small in size and does get busy very quickly. If you're coming in large groups, be sure to book a table. Even at 10:30 customers were pouring in. There are private rooms towards the back of the restaurant if that's what you prefer. They have parda and allow you to sit on the floor to experience the whole afghan vibe.
Great service, food was brought out in good time, bearing in mind there were quite a few of us.
If you're in the area do give this place a visit.
