I celebrated the holi with a lot of tangy and spicy chaat and by finishing my 11,000 words mammoth guide to Peru ❤️
Peru is like a country none other.
Raw-rugged Andes peaks, turquoise glaciers hung atop, deep canyons thriving with life, thick rainforests spread throughout the country, an arid coast bordering the Pacific and the land, giant vultures flying above in the sky, hundreds and thousands of ethnicities and languages and beliefs, roasted guinea pig sold as a delicacy, soft alpacas made into curries, a myriad of colors in a single piece of cloth, mix of Catholicism and indigenous religion flourishing in households, a series of rulers only to be paved out by the Incas and then the Spanish, rich produce of bright fruits and vegetables, vast reserves of silver, zinc, gold, and more, a lake as giant as an ocean and as blue as a sky, penis temples next to courtyards, hundreds of years old ruins worshipped by the indigenous and visited by the world, simple people with taut skin trying to make ends meet — these are the things Peru reminds me of. .
In this photo a Peruvian lady is selling chirimoya fruit, a damn tasty cactus fruit people eat in South America. And she is looking at me for I am clicking her.
As always, I had to write a full fledged guide to Peru, like I do for other countries where I spend lot of time. The one that not only talks about what to do in Peru but also about the nation's unstable economy, controversial politics, ancient history, and myriad of indigenous cultures that live there together. link to this guide is in bio. Don't worry, there is a table of contents you can use to jump up and down 😅
Let me know what you think. Send me all the questions you have. Though I hope I have answered all queries that you all directed to me so far.
Happy holi to all you guys. Peace 💦
I travel, I think, and I write. If you like to see colorful photos of the world along with life inspiration and real stories, follow me @priyanka_onmycanvas. Let's get in touch 😊

Along with Machu Picchu, The Rainbow Mountain is one of the most popular attractions of Peru🌈 While the colors of the traditional clothing clearly stand out across the country, the Rainbow Mountain is naturally bursting with colors spread across the mountain.
Have you ever witness nature so colorful?😍 #Peruhop#DiscoverTheRealPeru
Whats feels more magical than one of the most famous ancient ruins in the world?😍
Not much, but a close second is the magical friendships you make along the way with many fluffy peruvian friends❤️.
Who gets a magical feeling when traveling? #DiscoverTheRealPeru#PeruHop
Here’s a 6am snap of four wannabe hikers blocking the view of these incredible Inca ruins 🦙
The Salkantay trail is TOUGH. I freaked out before it started—I was scared of the altitude, the spiders, and not being able to keep up with the group. But 80+km later, through mud, twisted ankles and all of the laughs, WE MADE IT. To be honest, my body was so spent that I think I couldn’t appreciate Machu Picchu as much as I should have.. but now I have this gram to remind me 🙌🏽

I’ve got a thing for empires. Persian, Roman, now Incan. What empire should I conquer next?! But actually, the amount I’ve learned about the Incan empire over the last week has been absolutely unbelievable. The Incans were far ahead of their time, and they built such a large empire without the use of animal labor OR wheels. HOW?! Laziness was considered a mortal sin in the Incan empire, so I guess that’s how they built such a magnificent empire. Imagine what we could accomplish without Netflix in our lives?!
Dont dream about sleeping in the clouds, experience it😉 These skylodge adventure suites are the perfect loctaion to have the ultimate accommodation when traveling Peru.

Like this post if daylight savings is kicking your butt too!!!!!! ☀️ 🎉 💀 Struggling to keep my eyes open right now... I know that this photo looks like I’m dancing, but really I’m turning around and laughing at the amount of stairs that we had to climb. Bc ya girl does not like stairs. Don’t get me wrong, the ruins of Peru are absolutely out of this world, and the views from the top are remarkable. But would it have killed the Incas to install a ramp or something? 😂

One of the many reasons why Cusco is enormously popular with backpackers is its location. Located in the ‘Sacred Valley’ of Peru, which makes it a useful base for exploring Machu Picchu and other local Inca sites.

@voirlemondeavectoi says: "Former capital of the Inca city, Cusco “the navel of the world” is a very pleasant city in which we liked to take our time. Stroll and get lost in the pretty cobbled streets, try a new restaurant, go shopping and especially admire the city from the heights of the city!"
Who will you explore the streets of Cusco with?😉 #Peruhop#DiscoverTheRealPeru
