There are a few different ways you can start the process of finding your type:
1. You can take a test: online tests like the RHETI can be helpful In narrowing down your type but I would caution you to not necessarily assume that the type it filters as your dominate type is definitely the answer! I’d say it’s usually in the top 3 so the test can help narrow it down in that way.
2. You can read about all the different types and figure out which one resonates with you the most: this is a good way to start looking for your type. It can take a lot of time and can be confusing at times- but if you’re willing to put in the work and ask the right questions to the people around you who know you well it can work!
3. You can take a typing interview with someone like me: having someone who knows the types intimately and can pick out nuances in the conversation and to ask very specific questions is a great way to confirm your enneagram type. Mistypes are common and someone is who is trained to see where those mistypes might be confusing you can be very helpful.
4. If you’re confused between a couple different types I always recommend “trying on” one type for a while and see how it fits. Live with knowledge of what that type might look like under stress and be aware of your reactions etc... if this is IS your type then it will become more clear if you live in it for a while- and if NOT your type, eventually it won’t feel like it “fits” at all. And even if it’s not your type, it’s still a good practise because you are essentially being intentionally empathetic toward a specific type which can help you have more compassion for the people in your life who do have that type! WIN WIN!
Lol 😅 this is one my daily struggles specially at work.. my mind often wanders. This normally happens to ENFPs because of their dominant (Ne). In relation to MBTI I think most intuitives have this issue. •
