ZEUS • MOROCCAN AZILAL RUG •
This rug is woven by tradition tribes from the Azilal region of Morocco, which is between the middle Atlas and the High Atlas mountains. These rugs were historically made for use within the home, giving the women the liberty to be creative and adaptive, and to use their weaving as an expression of self. Designs can often look like a piece of abstract art that you would find within museum walls, and each is 100% unique and the only one like this in the world.

Never complaining about Bay Area traffic again. #Filmmaker#Driver#TwoJobs#DrivingInAForeignCountry
Driving in a developing country is nothing like driving in the states. There are no rules. We squeeze at least four lanes of traffic into two-lane roads. Watch out for motorcycles with entire families of five on them. And that traffic light probably doesn’t work.
But really, it’s just like anything else. Pay attention. Be alert. Watch out for literally everything. And openly communicate with everyone around you. We’re all trying to get somewhere.
Yummy smelling soaps are one of my favorite things! These soap bars from @soaptopia are environmentally friendly and made with 100% junk-free body care products. They make for great stocking stuffers too!
Thank you all who chose to shop with me this year! I’m truly grateful for the relationships I’ve made, and I’m excited for 2019 🛍

Got to do some diving today and even though the waters were shallow, just being able to get into the ocean and feel the sea life and its essence around you is just amazing and new every time. Been too long away from it. 📷 @karimiliya

As a mom, I honestly don’t remember the last time I bought something for myself... for example see these jeans, I’ve had this same pair of jeans for probably 5-6 years now. They’ve gotten torn, stained and have holes in places that shouldn’t. I don’t dare wears these out, although they are my favorite most comfortable pair of jeans I own. Like these jeans, they reflect us as moms sometimes. We get worn out, tired, our patience worn so thin we wonder how we can ever become the mom we want to be. But what we don’t see is no matter how “messed up” we see ourselves, to our children all they see is something beautiful, something great. So keep your heads up mamas! You’re all doing an amazing job, holding life together! Like these old jeans, I’m comfortable in knowing I’m not perfect ☺️💕

evening tide. // “My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.” - Proverbs 2:1-5 #🌅 #latergram

REALITY CHECK. // Reflecting on this past week of ministry, I don’t think I fully appreciated in the moment how much the Lord was stretching me. To deal with physical, emotional, and spiritual discomfort. To meet people I normally don’t encounter in my visits to San Diego, and fully embrace them (and all their burdens). To struggle in conflict with my teammates, even to the point of a verbal altercation. But despite all these things, I am all the more grateful for God’s ministry of reconciliation in my life, to bring broken people like me back into relationship. Back into relationship with Him, with those I’ve had conflict with, and with the poor and disenfranchised. Tomorrow begins a new day. Cheers to God bringing me further out of my comfort zone and into a fuller sense of reality. #HOC3xKaleo

Cling to joy. Audacious, unbridled joy that looks for light in everything. Even while you are waiting. @morganharpernichols
I find joy in the little things…hearing people laugh, Beau’s snuggles, escaping to nature, gratitude, hugs from my favourite person ❤️, memes 😂, music, a feeling of connection, the randomness of life, coffee, sunrise, keeping plants alive, making people smile 😊, singing in the car, sunshine, naps + cleaning. What do you find joy in? Happy Tuesday, friends! 📷 @itsbigben

Design Charette in full swing for a new technical college amenity space courtyard...
A few years back I photographed a young woman as she was wrapping up her treatment for cancer. It was a beautiful and sobering experience that I will not forget. Recently I photographed a bride at the start of her personal treatment for breast cancer. Again, beautiful and sobering. She recently had a double mastectomy and is beginning chemotherapy. She’s got a positive outlook and is determined to beat this. I’ll be there to document this journey along the way. If social media is to be believed, life is for the most part well put together, carefully curated and often times sponsored. As a photographer, I’m here to capture moments whether it be joyful, triumphant or scary as hell. Stories matter. REAL stories matter. Your story matters, scars and all.
