Today we visited the worlds most unassuming house! -
You wouldn’t think this typical 1940’s house was steeped in history, medical breakthroughs 👨⚕️, historical cars 🚙, culture, education and the founder of an Oxford College 📚. This adorable house nestled in the Chilterns was once owned by the wealthiest man in the world William Morris (Lord Nuffield). He was the creator of the Morris Minor, built iron lungs which were used by hospitals and saved thousands of lives. Founded @nuffieldlibrary@nuffieldhealthoxfordshire@nuffieldsurgical and hundreds more companies all baring his unassuming name! He was known as Lord Nuffield (a name he chose for himself, since it was the name a village he lived in) as there was already a very famous Lord William Morris and there couldn’t be two!
It’s been a fun-filled day on the @henrileworm children’s course in The Raymond Blanc Gardening School. Finishing with a delicious lunch served by The Raymond Blanc Cookery School 🥕 #GardeningSchool#Oxfordshire
