Happy Tuesday! I’m so excited it’s Tuesday, because that means I get to share two more photos for our monthly hashtag theme #tba_intothewoods. I’m in awe of all the fun photos I’ve seen using the tag, and a little jealous of all your adventures. This shot from @tches13 is just the quintessential “hiking with toddlers” shot and made me smile. Thanks for sharing! Keep tagging this month’s theme for a chance to be entered to win a fun prize at the end of the month💛

Theme: Into The Woods
Anyone else’s dog LOVE staring out the window? Rigby used to have his own chair in our house so he could perform his Neighborhood Watch duties, and now he does it from the dinette in the camper. Less cats to bark at, but the scenery changes every day. #mysunshine#doggielove#handsomeboy#heelergram
After a summer fighting an Achilles injury, followed by a hike two days prior which had led to another flare up...this trip was in question. The forecast kept flipflopping between socked in with snow and partly cloudy with sunshine. Either way we knew it would be cold, the coldest I had yet to experience. The morning of the trip arrived and I made the call to go ahead with it, I knew the hike in would be slow but once we were up there, I would have plenty of opportunity for rest. On this occasion I think I can safely say the right decision was made, any fleeting moments of doubt quickly replaced by sheer awe.
Snowed in at the bottom of a canyon with no cell service. That’s where we’ve been for the past 36 hours. And it was actually pretty fantastic. Well, it’s never great when you rely on having internet for work purposes, but just one day with no ability to check emails, take a phone call, or do the social media “scroll” was refreshing. +
We ate terribly unhealthy food combinations, played Cribbage, read books, took naps, watched DVDs, stuck snowflakes on the windows and threw in a couple mini-dance parties for good measure. While we do really need to get out of the cold weather for the camper’s sake, it made us realize yet again how reliant our lives (even now) still are on technology. Maybe we’ll be planning more days where we pretend we have no service in the near future...
Tinhorn Creek was our favorite of the three wineries we visited in the Okanagan Valley. Although they are known for reds and I prefer white wine, the setting was amazing and you get to walk around the back and try the different grapes, as well. If you’ve never been to Canada’s wine country, it’s worth a visit! We came late in the season, but I imagine there would be so many things to do in the summer months. Lots of wine and food, lakes and hiking, and small town charm! #tinhorncreek#winery#vineyard#okanagan

It won’t be long now until the smokies look about like this. Until then though enjoy the dead brown colors, they’re something special. Photo by the man, the myth, the legend @_benhoffman#theblueridgers

Saturday night was one of the most stunning sunsets we’ve witnessed in the Sea to Sky yet! Especially with the early season snow reflecting all the sky’s colours back ✨ .
We were lucky enough to catch it from elevation and finishing our hike in the dark allowed us to see every little change from start to finish, ending with a crescent moon and the Milky Way visible above as we arrived at the car! 🌘 We wont be forgetting this one anytime soon! .
Get outside when weather allows ! 🥺 i can’t believe some places already started snowing . But I have so many places that I wanna hike to !
1 van. 2 people. 6 months.
And the road trip of a lifetime.
19,162 miles. (I drove 2 😁) 26 states. 24 national parks.
8 bears and 3 wild @desertditchdogs. 2 paid campsites. 0 tickets. 2 break downs and a few too many Walmart parking lots.
It's been almost a year to the day since we left Michigan and set out on the biggest roadtrip of our life, I wasn't wrong thinking that would just be the beginning.
Tomorrow @kyle.rhen and I will head south to do it all over again.
And I am so ready.
I'm desperate to get back in the van and on the road.
Our own little place, where I feel safe and comfortable.
Where normal is digging a hole to use the bathroom and our only obligation is daily research to find out where we will sleep that night.
It's a place I call home and I am feeling homesick.
Even though I know it's best for us, I'm also feeling a bit emotional. As many of you know we will no longer be traveling in this van. We had a good run together and I wouldn't have wanted any other rig for our first home on wheels.
After 17 months of living in this space I'm ready to let go and move onto bigger and better things 😉
I'm filled with a mix of emotions but mostly I look forward to this new adventure with my lil fam bam.
It will be a time of growth and immense learning.
So, I close
to old ends
my heart to
new beginnings. 💞
