Yesterday was the Spring Equinox. In celebration of the new season, Oregon coastal skies were painted a tapestry of brilliant tones including a fiery magenta, dandelion gold, and a deep, rich lavender. We watched the quilted shades of sunset transform from light tones to darker, more saturated colors. A flaxen beam rose high into the atmosphere, vertically announcing the final position of the sun, as it gently collided with the horizon of the Pacific Ocean. One solitary fishing vessel shined a starry light in between ocean waves, as the colors of the sunset drenched the ocean and landscape before us. Our eyes followed the coolness of the graying dunes, past the silhouetted coastal forest, and outward towards the oyster farms inside the rocky triangle, before rising upwards into the luminescent heavens. It was quite a remarkable sight. Let’s hope this jubilation of color and vibrancy continues throughout the rest of this new season. Happy Spring!
So I’m kinda #stoked right now because
☝🏼It rained here in #SoCal & the #Oregonian in me was like ☔️ 🕺🏻 And ✌🏼 I found out I have yet another auto immune disease which at this point you’re probably wondering (wth is wrong with this woman..but hear me out 😂)
I’m NOT glad I have it but I am glad to finally be vindicated because I knew I had it 2 years ago 🙄 but my dr didn’t believe me & refused to send me to a specialist 😑 #StoryOfMyLife
Guess what happened to her? I fired her 😝
Hey #Doctors, Listen to your patients! They actually know their bodies better than you do. 😯 #ShockingIKnow
Cool thing to note, the Dermatologist said he wasn’t used to seeing #vitiligo get better rather than worse & asked what I’d been doing to address it. 😮
So I got to talk to him about cleaning up toxins from my home/body care, diet changes, detoxing methods, supplements to combat auto immunity & stress reducers.
It was so refreshing to find a doctor who’s willing to think outside the “medication only” mindset. His response was “Keep it up, it’s obviously preventing further pigmentation loss which is helping reduce the immune attack”👌🏼 It was super great to hear that the things I’ve been doing for years are actually helping despite how horrible I feel.
If I’ve learned anything in these 12 years dealing with chronic illness it’s that my intuition has been 💯 on the money with my health.
And I don’t have the time or health to waste with a doctor who won’t listen👂🏼 Unfortunately 90% I’ve come across don’t & I’ve been left to figure out the maze of auto immunity on my own. But I’m better for it & hopefully one day it’ll help someone else. 🤷🏻♀️
All this to say, no one knows your body like you & your health is worth fighting for whether it’s finding a Dr who will listen or persevering with lifestyle changes that seem to be not making a difference. They actually are & could be keeping other diseases at bay or current ones from doing more damage.
