To summarise what the Pan Verus Project is grateful for, director Sarah Bell:
Repost from @sarahsgonewild - “I guess there’s still a good bit of American in me, because I can’t help but feel a little extra thankful today.
I am thankful for the Outamba Kilimi National Park. Never before has a place given me so much. It has given me my favourite people, it has given me a sense of direction with my life, it gives me awe every day I wake up there. It has made me stronger, more determined, and more open minded. It continues to knock me down and build me back up to be a better person. This park handed me my future in ways I couldn’t have imagined and I am so thankful.”
What are you most thankful for in your life? I am most thankful for the love of my life, my fiance @antonpug . I cannot begin to describe him as a novel would have to accompany this post. This picture is from the summit of South Hancock, our first date. I love you my fearless, native guide. You make adventure more beautiful. I cannot wait for a lifetime of adventures with you ❤

(HR. Bukhari no. 5017).

Chefs @dennisleslie and @kat.seneres (Madison Lounge’s sous chef who previously worked in various establishments in Maxims and Resorts World) pose for a photo after having a hilarious conversation about seasalt. You have to check @hiltonmanila for yourself to see how Chef Dennis brings his Aussie and Pinoy roots in integrating familiar and unfamiliar flavours in different fishes, and leading a fun, hard working F&B team. #hiltonmanila#chefsofinstagram#chef#chefs
How do you stay warm bouldering in winter?
I had a pretty rough transition between the seasons this year. It somehow passed me by that the temps had dropped by 10 degrees and for the first two properly cold days I was freezing...
I came to my senses on the third day and remembered that I simply need to wrap up more, however awkward it may feel.
Here’s my usual set up for a cold day:
TOP: Merino wool long sleeve, fleece mid-layer with a hood, a sweater (a normal, high-street shitty one)
BOTTOM: Merino leggings, normal (slightly oversized) climbing leggings, loose jean trousers from @prana but any will do, two pairs of socks (normal ones and then oversized woollen knee socks)
ACCESSORIES: Merino buff on my neck, an extra warm hat (windproof and keeping the ears warm) - these make all the difference!
When I rest, I put on my down jacket and a pair of skiing mittens.
I also make sure to snack a lot (nuts, dark chocolate, dates) and drink hot water with ginger, which really helps to warm up the body.
It’s for sure not too comfortable to climb in all these layers but if you get your set up right, it’s not too bad either. It’s also much better than hypothermia! (With years of background in snow sports, I’m always surprised how much colder I get during a bouldering outing than skiing.)
It’s slightly frustrating to be shivering while lotsa people seem just fine but it’s all just down to how much fat you got and and how good your circulation is, and I’m not the best with either.
If I want to stay outside (and I do!), silly layering is the way to go.
Apart from my beloved @hopsa.sports leggings, I get most of my gear from @barrabes.ski.mountain and I’m really stoked on their support given how much warm clothing I need. (Although I do tend to use one item forever and ever until it really falls apart, and I also take good care of my possessions because the throw-away culture does my head in. My winter gear is heavily reliant on animal products - wool and down - so it’s very important to me not to use more than I absolutely need.)

Picture #1: How the wife of a photographer wishes she could pack. Photo #2: How the wife of a photographer actually packs. 🤔🤦🏼♀️ Can you spot the differences? Going on a trip with @andrewkorsonphotography
Learn to let go. Let go of fear, of negativity, of other people’s opinions, of hate, and of anything else that doesn’t serve you. Let it all go and focus on love, on being happy. Without all that weight, you’ll be able to fly✨
The team spent 11 days travelling through @feelslovenia and we were pleasantly MIND BLOWN 🤯
The diversity of this country was absolutely amazing! One day we were walking through a fairytale, the next we would be underground in one of the largest cave systems on the planet, and the next we would be in a cozy cabin surrounded by towering mountains!
If you haven’t been to @feelslovenia we highly suggest that you go ASAP 🇸🇮

I have so many things so be thankful for this year. Photography & Adventure being first and foremost. I’m so happy to be able to travel frequently and capture the beautiful places I’ve visited this year. I’m thankful for The National Parks, the State Parks and forests, every employee and volunteer who dedicates time and effort to protect these places that I love. I just want to capture how wild and insanely incredible this planet is, so that humans can understand what and why these place deserve to be preserved for others to enjoy. // Wishing you all a great holiday weekend, and those of you who #optoutside enjoy it for me!! // #bealpha

Wild Wind | Photograph by Adam Gearing (@adamgearing)
“The wind had been harsh all day, with these low clouds moving across the mountain sporadically, blanketing the slopes,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Adam Gearing. “These grooves in the snow have been carved out by the winds, leaving a brilliant texture up the ridge-line.”
“I can feel the harsh wind blowing, this scene feels so cold, so miserable. And yet you composed yourself and took a really beautiful photo. I love how epic it feels. What an adventure. Very well done.” — @natgeoyourshot Producer David Y. Lee (@davidylee)
