Patient's beliefs play an extremely important role in back pain. The beliefs most people and many health professionals hold is behind the current evidence.
Patient's beliefs influence their behaviours and movement habits. Understanding why you get back pain helps you regain confidence in your ability to move carefree. This, combined with an active approach to your recovery can help you overcome any issues you are experiencing and allow you to return to all the activities you love.
Its frustrating when you have goals and cant get on the path properly to get to them!
Waiting now to see what happens with this shoulder...pain is increasing and it doesnt matter if it's at rest or trying to put my seatbelt on! The problem with chronic pain....its designed to bring you down and make you blue...
So on the mean time it's going to be working on other areas and wait til the day I can finally pick up a barbell. Gotta keep it positive!

What have you been told by a healthcare professional? Unfortunately there is a huge amount of misinformation regarding pain in the healthcare system.
Your body is not like a machine that wears out as you use it!
Understanding why you have pain and what is ok/ not ok to do can mean the difference between getting back to your valued activities quickly or becoming less and less able.

Pain going on for months? Sometimes it's because of movement habits you have developed. The strange thing is that initially these movement habits were helpful and enabled you to cope with your pain a bit better but now they are contributing to the pain. Being aware of these subtle habits is the first step to returning to full pain free activity. Any questions please comment below.
Glad to be able to help Stephen get back doing what he enjoys. Stephen had been very frustrated with failed treatments and conflicting diagnosis from several healthcare professionals. Suffering from ongoing pain is very difficult to deal with especially when you are unable to do the simple things in life. It can really take its toll on you as a person. Try to stay positive, there are answers out there.
