I’m past the fun and exciting part of starting a new health/fitness routine.
Working a full-time and a part-time job while trying to balance workouts and clean diet is hard.
By the time I get home each night, the mental energy I have to resist crappy food is at 0%...
My tendency is to want to give up and settle for where I am. However, I need to change my mindset. It’s not a “diet,” it’s fueling my body for the amazing things it can do everyday. The better I eat, the better my workouts will be, and in turn I will become stronger.
Progress is slow sometimes, but it’s still progress. Results don’t happen overnight, BUT they will happen with consistency and drive. I won’t quit this time. .
Attitude of Gratitude. Taking Action. Finding Passion. Constant Consistency. A few things I was reminded of during a team call through one of 2019’s new opportunities.
Y’all I am guilty of giving up before and bowing to failure as if it ruled over me. It is always a fear of people to quit on themselves, but what good does that get you?! NEWSFLASH: Tears and Pity Parties are NOT GOOD. Unless you enjoy depression, I hope you find your hope and escape those pity parties!
Believe that the escape is possible! You are not the only one to go through any of that. As humans, we are ALL guilty of falling in the trap of depression. BUT we all are given a door that clearly states ESCAPE!
You have to take those action steps to push through the muck! Next time you get hit with it, read your favorite passage, do a little work out, dance around, ANYTHING!!! Because your journey does not stop there! You are special and completely capable of thriving. Get in touch with people, find that one person in your life who you know can provide encouragement to you. Suit up and fight that battle that is stopping you! Fear has no control over you! Believe in yourself, and witness the possibilities you never thought possible!
Make it Happen. Shock Everyone.
Over my career as a teacher, a college volleyball coach, and as a trainer, I've been told repeatedly, that I need to set long-term goals. The handbooks, self-help books, and business guru's preach "1 year, 3 years, 5 years" from now. They tell you that your goal has to make you uncomfortable.⠀
Focusing on a goal that is months or years down the road will give you direction, but if you believe the law of averages, most people will change or quit on that goal before it even had a chance because they just weren't seeing the steps.⠀
Big goals come with more discouraging moments, more setbacks, and a lot more variables than most of us are prepared to handle. We need to step away from the long-term and start setting goals we can accomplish today. If you have struggled with finding success, if you've quit on your goals because you didn't make progress, you NEED to look at ways you can make small victories.⠀
Change your focus. Set smaller goals. The more pieces your big goal requires, the more small goals you need. The more times you've walked away, feeling like you failed, the quicker you need to hit goals. You might even need to set a goal for each day.⠀
Look at dieters. 95% of diets fail (aka quit) because they are built on a BIG goal, and miss all the places to feel good. Chances are the goal needs to be less like "I'm going to lose 50 lbs this year by working out 4x per week" and more like "I'm going to work out today" or "I'm going to skip the donut with my morning coffee." ⠀
The instant measure of success from accomplishing a small daily goal can build the confidence and momentum you need to go beyond the first week or month and chase that big goal. Everybody loves to talk big, but everybody likes to feel like things are working out the right way, more.⠀

These daily posts from @melissa_hartwig have been priceless and so worth it.
Yes. This is why the hard work done with whole 30 is worth it. Whole 30 and our relationship with food, really is about every aspect of our life. How we show up with food, is how we show up in every area! Financial, relationships, spiritual, it's all connected and seen in how we treat our bodies.
You know you have something important to do. It is always at the top of your list and you are sure today is the day to do it. However when it comes to the time to do it, you seem to find anything else but that one important thing to do. Even cleaning the toilet seems like a good idea. We can all relate to that.
What will you get started on today?
Mine will be getting up early for the gym. 🏊♀️
A friendly reminder to not be so hard on yourself ☀️ staying consistent is the secret and if you ever need a break that’s okay too but just get right back at it! 🙏🏼🤛🏼
Happy Tuesday friends! .

Stop surrounding yourself with folks who aren’t lifting you up or unwilling to celebrate you. Be around people who are doing better than you are. Give yourself something to aspire to. Surround yourself with individuals you can learn & grow from. Plants can’t thrive from bad soil. You can’t thrive from the living dead. IJS
Friend, when we find ourselves making decisions that don’t align with our values or long-term wellness, we may need a perspective outside of our own thinking.
Find individuals whom you can trust, and take the vulnerable step of inviting their perspective and asking for help. Look for those who walk in healthy relationships and peace, or who have progressed through the challenges you are currently facing.
When our thinking has been a source of security, listening to advice with which we may not agree can feel difficult in the moment. Allow yourself to embrace the tension, and the process of trusting others.
Inviting in others to our process can help us not be too hard on ourselves, and actually make changes that are needed.

Coisa de criança
Foi durante uma temporada de férias que o físico americano Edwin Land ouviu de sua filha de apenas 3 anos a pergunta que mexeu com sua cabeça. “Por que não podemos ver a foto agora, papai?”. Naquele dia, Land concebeu a câmera instantânea.

Growth. One step. One day at a time. Don't concern yourself with yesterday, you don't live there. Don't look to tomorrow, you haven't discovered the full potential of today. Live here, live now, this is your moment, take one small step, do one small thing better than your current best. Build on that, pray, give yourself compassion, this world is waiting on the best version of you.

Anyone else get overwhelmed by New Years resolutions? 🙋🏻♀️ A full 365 days tackling some huge, life-changing goal just seems so impossible sometimes 😕
So I’m reminding myself to take that shit ONE. MOTHAFUCKIN’. STEP. AT. A. TIME. 🙌
Instead of “This year, I’m going to take my business to the next level!”... today, I’m going to sit down and take a ProCreate lesson on Skillshare. And tomorrow I’m going to create a few graphics for Pinterest. And each day, I will remember to be proud of myself for moving the needle forward a little bit. Cause that’s really where the magic is. ✨
How about you? Is there a tiny step you can take today to get to where you wanna be? 👏😆
