Had some days off. Saw a Stonehenge replica in West Texas. Who knew?
Looked at the sky a lot. I’ve done this a lot as a traveler. It’s neat to be able to look up at the sky and know that loved ones positioned thousands of miles away can look at a similar scene. It’s weird to think that sailors and philosophers and travelers thousands of years ago used the night sky to determine their location on the earth, or the earths location in the solar system, or the fact that the earth is not flat, or the order of things in the universe. What orbits what? What rotates and why?
Light pollution from nearby cities and the full moon are still causing an evasion of the “perfect” picture of the night’s sky, but I’m getting closer.
Also, we’re pretty close to an airport, so that brings pretty neat photographic opportunities . Back to the grind.
