one of my fav self portraits — a #tbt from a personal series documenting the many shades of my #mentalhealth 💭 just a lil reminder that your pain is your power! confront it! own it!!! ✨💕 (side note, attempting to take selfies during a panic attack is ridiculous and entertaining, highly recommend!)
I’m excited to announce the positive light that has kept me going for the past few months. The fantastic @bbamgallery in Montreal will be hosting my debut solo exhibition #VOYAGER 🌌
The opening reception (vernissage) will be on March 1st. I’ll be there with all kinds of surprises! Extra excitement because it will be happening during @mtlenlumiere (Montreal’s Festival of Lights) ✨ The exhibition will be on view through the month and I’ll return to Quebec for a finissage (closing reception) on March 29th. Eager to see all you Québécois and other visiting friends!🎨 Thank you to Alison & Ralph of BBAM! for offering me this opportunity & to all of you who have supported my creative adventure over the years. I appreciate you! 💕
“Women should be respected as well! Men are held in great esteem in all parts of the world, so why shouldn’t women have their share? Soldiers and war heroes are honored and commemorated, explorers are granted immortal fame, martyrs are revered, but how many people look upon women too as soldiers...? ” / Anne Frank
How gorgeous is this #AnneFrank street mural in Amsterdam designed by Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra AKA @KobraStreetArt
Kobra utilizes bright colors and bold lines while staying true to a kaleidoscope theme throughout his art. The technique of repeating squares and triangles allows him to bring to life the famous people he echos in his images.
Deviating from notable figures, Kobra has also stayed true to the everyday human subject, maintaining his bold color use to bring these individuals to light in his work.
Side note: did you know the @YadVashemYLA event is coming up? This February 21st more details to come soon.
