During gait, the sensory receptors in the feet provide spatial information to the CNS(Central Nervous System) which processes the information and sends a motor feedback to the feet to stabilize the body in the field of gravity by striking the foot firmly to the ground. Intensity of the foot strike mostly depends on the terrain the body is traversing through. Softer the surface, harder is the foot strike.
Prateek, a professional cricketer has been struggling with an ankle injury on his landing foot. He is using BOSU Ball as a prop to strengthen and stabilize his ankle joint. Making him land on a BOSU Ball will increase his proprioceptive reflexes. Vladimir Janda states that if we could speed the reflex response time of our bodies by 50%, we would reduce the chances of acquiring an orthopaedic injury by about 80%. Train Smart. Train hard. #strengthandconditioning#cricket#rehabilitation#nscacscs#chekpractitioner#holistichealthcoach#sportsperformancetraining#athlete#fitnessmotivation#instafitness#sportstraining

Managing Work & Life 101: Work-Life Integration Instead of Work-Life Balance 😁Dedicating yourself to work-life balance is hard. The visual of trying to balance the two on a scale insinuates that they are opposite of each other and that you have the balance them, which can be exhausting. Trust me I have tried. 😁We can look at it a little differently. Life and work are integrated and interconnected to every aspect of your being and hopefully purpose. When work and life are working in harmony one flows into the other and supports the other. If you are doing well in your work it would hopefully positively effect you personal life 😁People spend typically one-third of their life at work, one-third sleeping and one third in their personal life. How are you spending your time and life? Try not to tirelessly attempt to balance it. Instead be in the moment and be present and experience the interconnectivity of it.
Y’all know I’m NASM inside and out, but I just opened this today and it is a credential I’m proud to have. I’ve maintained it for 12yrs now. I’m still hitting myself for letting my ACSM HFI lapse (maybe the most challenging test I’ve ever taken). Not that I need it, but I was proud of it. I had the credits. I just got lazy about renewal. Many of us have been there and let that drive us out of the business. Don’t. Stay on top of your continuing education and credentials.
It’s also helpful when teaching NASM Performance Enhancement Specialists workshops to answers the question, “What’s the difference between PES and CSCS?”
Also, I realize when I see my full name how funny it is and question why my parents called me “Rick” instead of “Rich” and the latter CLEARLY makes more sense.
Just passed the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists exam. This is a highly recognized certification and I’m glad to have passed.
This means a lot to me, it has been a goal of mine for a few years now. Actually since entering university lol. Anyways I’m excited to use this certification to expand my level of coaching to all levels of fitness.
Just want to thank all the ones in my close circle who supported and helped me the whole way through. Especially my guy @powerphysique and my boo @ke.ny.la - #nscacscs#strengthandconditioning

Even though I’ve had this and various certifications for many years now, I still can’t help but be all smiles whenever I receive a renewal certificate in the mail! Feels like a reward for being a bonafide fitness nerd to the fullest! Haha!! #fitnessnerd#fitfam
