Something about the way snow accumulates has always fascinated me
🔥With forest fires becoming more frequent, we were worried when we noticed a few trails of smoke rising from the trees out in Eastern Oregon. We later learned that these were controlled burns from the forestry department, but it was still scary because of the amount of destruction and damage our forests have endured over the years 🌲😢
We sincerely hope that the world will be able to heal from the effects of climate change in the future. It’s up to all of us to push for positive change and keep fighting for our earth 🌱
There are so many beautiful, fragile places in the world we want to explore. Here’s hoping that we get to see them all someday 🌏❤️

Hey everyone! Just wanted to post some holiday housekeeping which should hopefully answer most questions we get this time of year.
Our holiday hours will continue as shown above. The last day to order online with guaranteed arrival before Christmas is the 18th (orders placed after will still be processed but we cannot guarantee their arrival before the 25th). We will also be closing the shop for the dates listed above. Regular shop hours resume in 2019.
As always we are super grateful to be a part of your holiday gift giving, thank you for shopping small this holiday season!

A weekend in the woods, in this incredible cabin? Don’t mind if we do 🍂🍁

Where is your favorite place to rent snow shoes? I’m looking to spend more of winter outdoors and in the snow!
Spending time at this little ranch was such an incredible experience. All of their products were super cute and authentic alpaca wool without being made in a sweat shop. I got to pet all sorts of cute animals, it was a great day. 📸: @zacksalix
Went to these well known hot springs a couple weeks ago and what I saw when I arrived was nothing short of heartbreaking. Cans and bottles thrown all over the ground, trash and graffiti covering everything, old clothes left behind lining the floors of these once beautiful historic bath houses. The signs clearly stated no alcohol or drugs yet all we saw were empty alcohol bottles scattered all over. This is why I don’t share exact locations of the places I visit. This is why we need to be sharing the message of #leavenotrace constantly. Once we lose these places they’re gone forever and it’s a real shame. I strongly encourage everyone to stop geotagging these places, especially hot springs as they seem to be so vulnerable to this kind of behavior. Leave these places better than you found them and follow the forest services rules, they’re in place for a reason. #leavenotrace 💔
Prior to my polar bear trip last month, this was probably my favorite photo I’ve ever snapped. It seems that every time I’m lucky enough to photograph bears I come away with a shot that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Shot on the @sonyalpha trip to Alaska last year. A9, 100-400 GM.
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas ❄️☃️❄️
And always dreaming of my favorite cozy cabin tucked away the snow. The perfect little size, the rustic red door, and of course the front porch built around the tree. An older photo I took of him has been shared around lately so I thought you all would love to see another angle. Anyone adding this tree cabin to their Christmas list? 😍❤️ #adventuresofanthro#countrylivingmag
It’s that time of year to eat a whole box of pillsbury sugar cookies for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and second dinner, and dessert and a midnight snack 🍪🎄
