Y’ALL THIS SUNSET 🙌🏼🌄
First overnight backpacking trip of the season was one of my favorite trips yet!
Hiked ~ 12 miles through a northern section of the Shenandoah National Park (started at Mathews Arm Campground and hiked the Overall Run Loop, plus some extra mileage), unexpectedly discovered a beautiful gorge and subsequently went for a very refreshing swim (and a few slides down a mini waterfall 😊), set up camp near Overall Run Falls (Shenandoah’s tallest waterfall, standing at 93 feet), and ended the evening with THIS INCREDIBLE VIEW. 💚
I’m my most pure, happiest self when I’m deep in the woods. 🏕
That means at least $500 is going to the National Parks. At this point, I'm dreaming for $1000 to give.
Let's do this! Pick up a few more stickers, share with a friend, spread the word.

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to this handsome man I get to call my husband. I feel lucky everyday that he chose me to spend all his birthdays with. #32#ontoournextadventure 👶🏻

In all my hiking, one of the coolest places was the Great Gallery, in Horseshoe Canyon, Canyonland NP.
The Pictographs and petroglyphs have been dated between 400AD and 1100AD.
“It was like lying in a great solemn cathedral, far vaster and more butiful than any built by the hand of man.” Teddy Roosevelt
Getting a camping spot is a lot like getting concert tickets theses days, with the internet, campsites and tickets are snagged up in a matter of seconds. The last time I was in Yosemite I wasn’t so fast about getting a campsite and was lucky enough to get one on the outskirts of the park at Hogdgon Meadows, 25 miles and a 50 minute drive into the valley. It was great and the daily drive into the valley was spectacular, but I was really wanted to sleep in the valley, I want to be lying in that great solemn cathedral. So this last week when the next block of campsites in Yosemite became available I made sure I was sitting in front of my laptop at the very second reservations became available... Upper Pines Campground, September 24-27, Campsite 002.
I think that half of my heart belongs to Yosemite, while the other half is comfortably rooted in the Sonoran Desert (as comfortably as the desert allows 😂)
Being the most lush desert on the planet, this incredible place hardly looks/feels like what you imagine when you here the title "desert". Receiving over 12" of rain annually, the Sonoran Desert boasts some of the most outstanding biodiversity in flora and fauna that I've ever experienced. ♥🌵
Yesterday we woke up at 6AM and drove from 🌵 @thelocalchapter to Ojinaga, Mexico and then on 40 more minutes to the Rio Conchos for a full day canoe trip. 🛶
We paddled up stream for many hours, into a huge canyon, and then turned at the top to float back down.
We saw wild horses and caves and ran into a group of friends from #Marfa on the river. Flip through to see it all! #venzeditstexasroadtrip
