Hope you all have a lovely day hunting for eggs and eating chocolate 💗🌸🐰🥚 🥚 Eggs, specifically the yolk, are filled with brain boosting nutrients like choline and DHA Omega 3 fats. Choline is absolutely essential to brain health as it is a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is important for our working memory, cognitive performance, as well as muscle movement and coordination. It has been shows to promote neuroplasticity, our brain’s way of repairing itself. Studies have shown that people with Alzheimer’s have acetylcholine levels 90% lower than average. ⠀
🍳 The yolk is also packed with vision protective carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin. They are also packed with the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K as well as the nutrients Calcium, Iron, Phosphorous, B6, B12, Manganese, Folate, and Selenium.
One thing a lot of people seem to think is that FAT is what’s causing you to be ‘fat’ and that it should be limited or cut out from the diet. In reality fats are an essential part of your diet and will actually help you loose weight and be in the best shape possible if you consume the right fats.
Are all fats the same?
Not all fats are the same and there certainly are some bad fats that you need to look out for and stay away from, such as saturated and trans fats, in these categories we are looking at meat, dairy products, baked products and anything processed. These are the fats that will cause all kinds of internal damage aswell and piling on those stubborn pounds.
The fats you want to be consuming are polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, things like avocado, olive oil and nuts.. do not be afraid of eating these things daily! A good amount of fat is needed to protect cells and nerves and reduce inflammation.. your body can not produce the nutrients found in unsaturated fats so it’s essential you are including them in your diet.
DO NOT BE FOOLED! The new consumer fad that took over in the 90’s has lead everyone to believe in ‘low fat’ ‘fat free’ products and that fat is bad. FAT IS NOT BAD! ( the right kind) but often theses reduced fat products are filled with salt and sugar to make up for the reduced fat so the product still keeps its taste. Don’t be fooled by this!
