When you randomly discover you can do something new that you’ve never tried before even though you’ve only been working the yoga “basics” lately. Don’t discount the foundations. Don’t discount the beginner poses. My home practice is not flashy or exciting, but it enables me to do those things because I’ve kept at it. #headhighheartforward Disclaimer: no shade to those who work the advanced poses at home meant by this. I do too, just not most of the time. I’m simply saying foundations are important and they take you farther than you’d think. ❤️❤️
I made it back to the studio for the first time since before Rosie’s diagnosis. Truth is I’m still just a shell of a person, but I’m REALLY trying. I don’t know what I can reasonably expect or ask of myself in the next period of time, but . . . all I can say is I’m trying.

Discussion with my dad over dinner about the ways in which parents involve their children in various methods of advocacy & activism. We came across a pic of Ava’s 1st action at the Capitol months before her 1st birthday in 2011. To be honest, I’ve been tired as of late. Overwhelmed by the constant downpour of issues. But I’m trying to remind myself of the generations who came before us, and those who will follow. There is work still to be done. • #Reflection .
Most of the world lives in a constant place of anxiety and stress, would you agree?
I believe it's possible to live an anxiety-free life, without even trying that hard.
Here's what the Bible says about it:
1. Rejoice. To me, that means to choose joy before I can see good things. Joy isn't happiness. Joy comes from the inside, from who we are.
2. Be thankful. Recount the good things you've been given, the good things taking place every day. Just the fact that you're breathing is a miracle, celebrate that!
3. Win the battle over the mind with truth. Whatever things are good and beautiful, think about these. Declare the truth about who you are over and over until your mind believes it.
Beliefs are from the heart, and before they gets to the heart they come as thoughts in the mind. And beliefs are where every action in our life comes from, so if we can win the daily battle in our mind, our beliefs will align and life will be amazingly peaceful and anxiety and stress-free.

Fall is without question my favorite season, but sometimes you forget that it exists when you live in Southern California! Drive 10 hours north and the landscape definitely gets a bit spookier (not to mention, this is where most Bigfoot sightings occur) 🎃
