Reposted from @shaazjung (@get_regrann) - There is something inexplicably beautiful and tranquil about the elements of nature. I’ve spent the last decade documenting this individual leopard we call Scarface and watching him drink the rain was probably one the most beautiful moments we’ve shared together. What a magical world.
This was filmed on the Nikon Z7 on manual mode with focus peaking on. Shooting through the EVF viewfinder makes it ridiculously easy and the 5 axis in body stabiliser allowed me to shoot this handheld. .
Changla Pass, which is considered one of the highest motorable roads in the world, is in Ladakh, situated at 5490 m, roughly 15-16k feet above sea level. Air is thin at this height but absolutely pure.
This pass can be accessed either while going to Pangong or while coming back. The roads are not concrete but rocky as there are a lot of landslides due to rains and snow. While crossing these passes in Ladakh, one needs a highly skilled driver as you can have fatal accidents as well. Our group of travellers saw quite a few trucks and cars over turned and broken in the valleys of these mountains. So make sure, the driver you are hiring is extremely skilled.
Going to Ladakh means you have to have a certain level of fitness, and people like me who are asthmatic can also go there. I barely had to even touch my inhaler because the purity of the air did wonders for me. I don't know if this will hold true for all asthmatics, so do take precautionary meds with you and also take Diamox 250 morning and evening a day prior to landing in Leh.
This was my 2nd time in Ladakh and it has been just as memorable as the previous one. Thank you @womaniya_on_roadtrips for such a wonderful trip. Look forward to many others with you.
