We assume the really serious changes in our life happen slowly, over time. But it's not true. The big stuff happens in an instant. Becoming an adult. Becoming a parent. Becoming a doctor. One minute, you're not, and the next... you are. Ask any doctor, and they can point to the one moment they become a physician. It usually isn't med school graduation day. Whatever it is... nobody forgets it. Sometimes you don't even know anything's changed. You think you're still you and your life is still your life... but you wake up one day and you look around and you don't recognize anything. Not anything at all. - Grey’s Anatomy
Life is a series of baby steps. (Hoda Kotb)
You'll start with baby steps. When I moved abroad for the first time I was overwhelmed and I was close to pack my things and go home. I missed my family and my friends and I wanted to go back to a familiar environment. I decided to stay and to make the most of it. I saw beautiful places, made amazing friends and I discovered my love for travel. I met people from all over the World and now I can say that travel enriches my life in so many more ways than I expected it to. After travelling with family and friends I decided to try solo travel. New Zealand was the first country I travelled on my own because usually I waited for someone to join me. I noticed that if you wait for someone to join you you can wait for a very long time and maybe it will never happen. That's why I decided to just go for it and it was an incredible adventure. Be the person who decided to go for it!
Relaxed Reindeer 🎄
Everyone around us seems to be gearing up for Christmas, my favourite time of the year...
But... the Christmas Season is quite surreal so far...
As you know, we have just immigrated to the beautiful New Zealand. It is friendly, picturesque, and most importantly, I know that God moved us here because this is where our new season is starting...however, I must admit that this year it is rather lonely. I find myself yearning for familiarity at this time of the year. Looking for friendly faces, old family traditions and my memory-makers...👨🏼🧒🧓🏼👵🏽👶🏼
Moving to a new country is not easy, starting fresh is not easy, often, I know that evil wants to rob us of these joyful moments. Moments that aren’t about presents or Santa or fashionable Christmas outfits. This season is about treasuring what and who is around you today. Treasuring the people that you think of often. Christmas is about celebrating the day that the Saviour of the world was born. Yes, the dates may not be exact, but it’s a day to tell others about the birth of Christ.
It’s in seasons like this that you have to dig deep, to decide not to accept loneliness because God is always with us. Choosing not to fall into the trap of comparison in society. Choosing to start each day as if it was your last.
So, if there’s anyone feeling overwhelmed, lonely or sad this Christmas, know that we only have one life, let’s chin up, smile and dance our way through the Christmas season 💃🏽... why? Because we are all so incredibly loved by our Savior and we will rejoice and be glad in this! 🎁 🌲 .

3hr hike up to this amazing, hidden glacial lake. I spent the day hiking with a girl I had just met and we hitchhiked back into town with the sweetest couple from the Netherlands. Something that dawned on me today is that everyone has a story to tell and everyone has something that you can learn from. All you have to do is listen.
