On 19 September 1893, New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world in which all women had the right to vote in parliamentary elections. At the time this was a truly radical change as many other democracies, including Britain and the United States, did not allow women to vote until decades later.
Had the most incredible weather when we were at Mt Cook, not a breath of wind and not a cloud in the sky!
I think its safe to say the Hooker Valley Track has one of the best views to walk amongst in NZ!! 😍
