I was actually out scouting for potential hare watching hotspots in readiness for spring, and happened upon an unkempt and rather beautiful field of seedheads and grasses. I loved the light, tangled textures and subtle colour. I discoverèd lots of hares too, reconnaissance is never wasted time.
With a frustrating band of cloud shrouding the horizon, I was denied the golden light I'd been hoping for on this evening. This forced me to look for new images and opportunities that did not necessarily rely on the light, and thankfully this stunning Puffin provided just that. I had to wait patiently for some time before he opened his eye wide enough, giving me a few seconds to capture the shot before he went back to resting.⠀
