Sometimes you dont want a perfectly curated picture. Sometimes you just want to capture something that will bring back memories in years to come.
Tonight was our final breastfeed and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm currently sitting in the dark crying.
It was my own choice and I feel comfortable and confident in my decision to stop breastfeeding. That I have breastfed her for a year is something that I am intensely proud of and protective over. The timing works well for us but it doesn't mean that I cant still feel sadness at its end.
Tonight I sat and thought about all the special moments over the past year, from crying with happiness at her first latch to crying with frustration a few hours later when she hadn't fed in 9hrs and I was panicking that it was the end of our journey already. The relief when after a big sleep she latched again and we were away.
Our first feed in public, our first feed around friends - after the first flustered attempt to hide under a muslin I vowed never to do it again and everyone else would have to just deal and from then on I never covered up, I was just discreet. ♡
The hours spent together just the two of us, the best way to calm you, the best way to get you to sleep. The sodden sheets and the pump and dumps after a night out. ♡
Breastfeeding has so many wonderful memories attached to it and I am so happy that I've got those to hold on to. Just like that tiny little hand clutched and held on to my finger the first time, tonight with your hand on my cheek it ended.
This week has been pen to paper...when it starts to feel the right time for mums to work on how they would like their days and weeks to look like and feel for them. The fog is lifting from the early haze and thoughts are turning into daily flows and moving into next phase of motherhood #mumssupportingmums#gettingintotheirflow#confidentofchoices#nextchapter

They drive me insane well my 2 year old daughter does ! The attitude of a hormonal 14 year old and she’s 2.... but oh my god I love the bones of them ! Look at them! I can’t wait to watch them grow up together! I know they will fight what siblings don’t ? But see these priceless moments they make all the chaos and tiredness worth It! Having them so close in age has been so hard it has brought me to tears at times and anyone who says it’s easy they are lying!! And my hands are full! Yes I agree with people I meet in supermarkets who are quick to tell me “oh you’ve got your hands full “ or “your keen” but my heart is bursting it’s so full! And they have the best big brother in the world who adores them both so much! Love you guyyyys 😘😘😘 #mumpost#instamum#mumssupportingmums#mumsofinstagram#siblings
Would you like to find out more about how you could help reduce the huge amount of disposable nappies our babies get through every year?
Then join us for our next Mums Meet Up on Monday 29th April!
We have a special guest speaker Laura, who will be talking about reusable nappies.
Laura is a mum and founder of @ecomama_uk, and has been on a journey for the past two years to becoming more sustainable and eco-friendly. She is now founder of Eco Mama & Baby @ecomamaandbaby, a small business geared towards guiding parents to choose reusable nappies and wipes over disposables. With her online store having recently launched at the beginning of March, she will be joining us to talk about reusable nappies and any other subjects sustainable you are interested in.
This is free to attend and all parents and parents to be are welcome, you don’t need to be a Busylizzy member to attend.
Our coffee mornings are a great chance to have a relaxing chat with other mums 😊
Members can book through the app using your free coffee event credits. If you're not a member, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a free place.
Harper is one of those toddlers that hounestly cannot stand getting her hair brushed! Let alone putting in any gogos or bows😂 but she just gets so darn excited getting to choose a bow every day! And there so soft and light she doesn't seem to notice them and if she does the cover on the inside means she doesn't damage her hair if she decides to pull it out!
Win win for me! 🙌
AD - What was your must-have baby item? I wish I’d known about the Tommee Tippee Twist & Click nappy disposal system when I was pregnant! It would of been right up there on my must-have buys! We are a bit late to the party but taking FULL advantage of it now that we have it 🙌🏼 Not only does it eliminate odours and seal away pesky germs, it also looks great! It comes in 4 fantastic colours that would suit any nursery. It seals each nappy with an antibacterial multi-layer film which kills 99% of germs! Great when you have little wondering hands around. The bin holds up to 30 nappies and saves you from fumbling around with fiddly nappy sacks 🙌🏼 Considering a newborn baby has up to 12 nappy changes a day (that’s 84 changes a week) I think it’s a great buy! @tommeetippeeuk#ad#getbabyready#ParentOn
