We like to blame and shame ourselves for should haves and should have nots. While ruminating over what could have been is using energy, ultimately it is fruitless and your mind playing tricks. What is the reality of now? Sometimes we cling to a fantasy that is not rooted in reality. This discrepancy causes pain and suffering. While it might not seem like it, there is a choice.. to accept reality as it is, or continue the fantasy. We can overly attach ourselves to outcomes and find it hard to take no for an answer, but there is liberation is setting yourself free from outcome and living unconditionally. Finding prescence in the moment, regardless of circumstances. You can only control how you show up. What others think of you is none of your business. Let it out😁🙏🤙 #yoga#dance#handbalancer#circus#danceflow#cirque#calisthenics#yogi#yogini#yogaflow#dailyinspiration#dancetherapy#movement#movementculture

Fear. You’ve seen me talk and ask about this a lot lately from those who enjoy these talks. Chris VB who is one of the coaches with SFLT and I have also had these deep conversations. We have help influence one another in this weird topic many are afraid to talk about. Below is a piece from a blog that will be coming out from @sofletehq.
“Fear forces our thoughts away from the present and puts us into an oftentimes uncontrollable emotional and physiological spiral of chaos. Fear forces us to recognize a reality that doesn’t exist...yet. Understanding the difference between risk and consequence is critical to navigating these unknown waters.
Visualization navigates this spiral, not to create an expectation but to shed light on how to mitigate risks to the extent possible thus making the worst case scenario the least likely to occur. 🙏🏻” - @namaslayah
Final push session before I do some traveling for the next three weeks. I’m a routine kinda dude so getting off a schedule tends to go along with a bit of anxiety of stalling my progress or even worse “LOSING MY GAINZ”. These so-called gainz can be both bicep and trombone related. 💥
Most of us can afford to take a step back for the sake of new, or just different experience. A change of environment is a great chance to revisit the basics or fundamentals of your practice and approach them with fresh perspective. The new location, (literally new perspective) can make it easier to reexamine the more tedious practices with fresh eyes. Then...take this FRESHNESS back to the home practice. Voila! Reinvigorated for the next bout of routine. 🔥
One way I frame this idea is, tailor practice to environment...not the other way around. I’m heading to Miami so for me that means rolling around in the grass and hitting a ton of basic bodyweight moves under some ☀️ (or at the very least some warmer weather). For trombone, it means leaving the etudes behind in favor of fundamentals, prep for rehearsals, and performance. 💯
Yes, unfortunately, I’m going to *temporarily* lose a bit (not all) of my hard earned ring strength and etude power. But, with all the above in mind, I think some time off will raise the overall ceiling...and floor. What do you think?! Gabe is insane? This is cool? I hate reading long comments? Let me know. 😳🚀

In the fitness industry it gets easy to get caught up in the latest and greatest toy that claims to improve your balance (bosu ball, Indo board, slackline, etc.), but at the end of the day nothing beats the real deal of just standing on something narrow. 🍃Balance should be something you are improving from the inside out not the other way around.

Upon reflection during downtime this past Christmas holidays, I got thinking that after a year of a lot of travel, leaving my community to join other communities in various countries - I felt proud, appreciative, but also a little sad. Why? Something that is so important to me is spending quality time with loved ones, family and close friends...something that I didn’t make nearly enough time for last year.
Travel is still something that fills my heart, but so does local community and collaboration with others - and so I’ve made it a larger part of my year this year. Both personally and professionally 🤗😁! I will still be teaching lots of international events monthly be that workshop weekends, CPDS, or retreats (cause I luuurve it😁🙌🏼) - but this year as well as solo work, I will be co-teaching more, sharing that joy with others - @davjonesyoga@nickelisseos@beckyszwandt@carlfaure to name a handful 👊🏼! I will also be back teaching regular classes (likely from March) - and I can’t wait to build a weekly family of movers that I share practice with 🕺🏼💃🏼🧘🏻♂️🧘🏻♀️🙏🏼! Reviewing what is truly important to you is so valid, as it allows you to modify various aspects of your personal life or career so that you are living a life that aligns with you. Always take stock to establish your equilibrium as life shifts and changes.
Is your chosen set up still serving you? Or is it time for a rejig? 🧐🤔
Throwing it back to collaborating with @nickelisseos + @icreatelife_ + @ohmmeapparel For this crazy #acroyoga stunt... also throwing it back to when Nick had hair 🤣 (just playin brother...I prefer the enlightened look now 👊🏼 #yourewelcome)
