Found this old photo of me doing some baby yoga with my boy who is about 3 months old here. I was worried that because he was spending so much time in hospital it could affect his physical and mental development. He couldn’t even do ‘tummy time’ because of his tubes and wires. Every day we did lots of movement with singing followed by cuddles 💞 #bestmedicine#scbu#necsurvivor#babyyoga#hospitallife#movement#singing#love#hope

CONNECT: A Review by Alisha Coon //
“In Europe shows of this calibre sell out every night to audiences of thousands. This evening’s performance of CONNECT by the esteemed boutique, contemporary Austinmer Dance Theatre deserves to be performed in front of thousands of people!
The dancers only train together three days a week, however, this performance could easily be mistaken for a full-time professional company’s production. The quality of the choreography and the standard of the dancers is world-class.”
Thank you for the warming and beautiful words, @alisha_jane_coon ! To read her full review, head to the link in our bio. #austinmerdancetheatre
This is gold for golfers and not only elite players. When you set up to the ball turn your toes into fingers and grip the ground. Feel underneath your feet the connection to the ground. Feel your balance, your pressure and your weight distribution. Do you know how many muscles we have in the foot!! Use them:)
Great post by TFC instructor @optimize.physiotherapy Your feet can grant you stability if you use them effectively.
Stability is control. In order to express strength or power, your body requires the appropriate underlying stability.
ROOTING is when you effectively gain stability by ‘anchoring’ your feet to the ground when your body requires it. Gripping or suctioning your feet to the floor enables you to have the potential to produce much more force and power. This applies in the gym, in sport, and in many other facets of life.
If your feet are not able to do their job (due to restrictive shoes, cushioned shoes, orthotics etc) or they aren’t doing their job (lack of awareness, foot strength, rooting strategy), then your body can’t achieve optimal stability. Power is useless without stability.
Give your feet a chance to work by removing the barriers to optimal stability. Train your feet and
use them with intent and purpose in training. Hit golf shots barefoot:)
I’m really excited because it’s my birthday today! 🎉
But ALSO because StowMovers is back, under KLD!
I’ve spent all summer working on this project and thanks to Jane at JPC, Stowmarket Rotary Club, Cllr Dave Muller and Sue Calver at Stowmarket Council, I’ve been able to get the class back on its feet!
We’re now looking for more people to come and join our fun and friendly classes...
If this sounds like your cuppa tea, or you know someone who would be interested in joining in with some dance and enjoying a cuppa and cake afterwards - drop me a message, email or give me a call ☕️🍰
Mobility For Beginners
Loaded Shoulder Dislocates
Great move that is often ruined by folks who go way to fast or don't maintain a locked elbow
Grab the bar as wide as needed to pass overhead without bending the elbow. Go SLOW and CONTROL the entire range of motion.
If able add a little weight to the bar 2.5-10lbs but just the bar is fine
Try 3 perfect reps between sets of strength work during your next workout
